Good luck. As has been said meeting the family is a big thing, so I might suggest telling her that you want a few days on holiday first. That way if you aren't getting along you can call that tense one off. Also let her know you won't be supporting her family. That might end it right there or you might get an earful.

If your wish is to sample as many wares as is possible, then you will have to find a way to separate yourself from her. Maybe tell her you want to go to bkk for a few days and just check into a new hotel.

If you are happy getting laid, then having her around you can actually be better, as you both will learn what you like and don't like.

Also, having a local as a tour guide is very good.

Not so much nasty, as truly deserving pity, when he shows his true nature, and his effort to bury his past, in instances of vain one-upmanship such as these threads.

It's one thing to truly be morally judgmental, but it speaks volumes that the only times Noodles digs out the "prostitute" argument, is when he is cornered, and has lost the argument. Kinda like a cornered dog, except that the dog can genuinely be dangerous - Noodles just elicits the usual smiles and facepalms that drunk Uncle Ruprecht™ gets at the family wedding.
