I was thinking about how some people seem to be real touchy on forums when they're hiding behind anonymous nics, but when you meet them in real life often they're real nice.
What is it about having the opportunity to slag someone off anonymously which makes people think its OK to slag someone off anonymously?
I mean, being a rude dick is the same anonymously or face to face, all that changes is its harder for the victims to smash your face in, right?
So how about an early New Year's resolution to be the same online as off line? And maybe those who are rude dicks all the time could stop and smell the roses occasionally, eh? Or not.

I think it is part of the (predominantly male) human character that we tend to be more abrupt/rude as the more impersonal and remote our communication becomes i.e. we are polite face to face, more brusque on the telephone and downright rude when using e-mail. A false name (nic) simply adds another layer to that impersonal remoteness.

I actually assumed that it was going to be about someone's wife or girlfriend. The Pussycat or Pirahna thing really describes a lot of Thai women accurately.
