A brief and inconsequential skirmish with the frogs followed by doing what the Japs told them and lots of subsequent brown nosing which switched to brown nosing of the USA as soon as it looked as if they were going to win the war.
Simply joining sides with the leading team isn't really a victory is it, it's more willful submission. Also, as as with so many things here, the thing itself is copied from many other designs - at least 'Turncoat Obelisk' would have been original by name if not by design.
I can understand that they just wanted any excuse to have a monument - and I do kind of like it, but why does everything here have to be borrowed, copied or stolen?
Would it be fair to add 'creativity' next to 'initiative' to the list of genes the nation is lacking with severity?
Anyway I'm being petty, Thailand is still a great country.
