Physical pain - It's not nice..

Without trying to sound like a ponce or to quote a once popular British television advertisement "A Great Wet Lettuce",( I apologise for my reminiscent mood, but I swear I just saw my whole life flash past..and of all things it included that poxy advert) I hurt, I hurt a fucking lot..hurt which is currently breaking records in any previous world of hurt I've ever experienced.

Said pain is due to a pathetically sized hole in one of my back teeth (Yes, it's a toothache)..my head feels like it has been placed in a vice from chin to top of cranium and some horrific entity is sadistically tightening it...PAIN..

On a lighter note..I have whiskey..

On an even lighter note..I'm going to the dentist tomorrow..I really can't wait..it's gonna be great..especially the part where he sticks a foot long needle into my gum..

Tell us about any pain you've been in..I NEED TO KNOW ABOUT IT...

I was flying in a hot air balloon, across central Portugal

we had to land due to problems and it was a bit heavy and I smashed my ankle (lots of screws and a plate later)

we had to wait until the local ambulance arrived to get me out of the basket. They slowly tipped it up, making sure I was as comfortable as possible, until I was lying flat and the basket was on its side. It was painful but not earth shattering.

One of the ambulance guys went around to the other side to help me out, and tripped over my foot - that was a scream!
    I have reported your post

I cut my left index finger off and didn't feel much pain until about 20 minutes into the trip to the hospital, which was about 30kms away.

Then it felt like my left arm was on fire and when I arrived at hospital, drugs ...................then into surgery, woke up with my left hand in a brace next to the bed and it felt like someone had plunged a knife into my left pelvis.

The doctors had removed bone from my pelvic bone and to make a new finger but not knowing I thought I was a victim of a mistaken operation and it fooking hurt.

Broken collarbone playing Rugby which was more of a discomfort but I agree toothaches are lethel when you cannot get to a dentist quickly.

Thank god I am not a woman as I don't think I could stand the pain of delivering a baby as I nearly pass out trying to do a shit when I am constipated.

By the way Slapper..........Good luck tomorrow.

I once got caught between a 5 ton forklift with failed brakes and a big industrial waste bin. Luckily got most of my body out of the way, just one foot in the way.

Every Metatarsals smashed to pieces. Immediately after it happened I ran about 20 metres. Then the pain really hit.

Anyone had an injection into the sole of your foot?

I had a rather large veruca, about the size of Kilamanjaro, in my foot and after several months of pain and mild attempts at dissolving it with acid pitched up at the Bagkok Pattaya to get it terminated.

    "You want anasthetic?" they asked.

    "Will it hurt?" I responded.

    "Oh yes" they affirmed.

"Then give me the works" was my reply as I don't go in for pain.

Fcuk me! I have never experienced pain like it. I could have done with an anasthethic just to have the anasthetic.

Bit me tongue in half (down the middle).

Over me handlebars, chin hit the ground, tongue hanging out.

Got to hospital and the doctors didn't have time for an anesthetic so had to stitch it up without any.

On the plus side (for an 8 yr old) I could only eat ice-cream and jelly for 5 weeks.

A while back I had a fella throw a machete/sword at me from about 4 m's away which I luckily caught in my chest.

Thinking straight I decided to pull it out.

The sound and feeling of your lung collapsing is a bit of a fucker, believe me, let alone waking up in ICU.
I would post pictures but life's too short.

This sounds a bit poncey after reading some of the ghoulishness here.

Washing a cheap shitty glass at home and managed to squeeze my fingers in to get to the bottom of the glass, then pop! Glass exploded. Lacerated my pinky finger. Nothing major just a large gash and rather deep cut. I looked at the flap of skin and thought it would be wise to get some paper stitches on it to prevent infection and scarring.

Off I went to Camilian hospital on Ekkamai as it was closest at the time. Spoke to the doc, he seemed to speak Engrish well, I mentioned paper/dissolvable stitches, he seemed to understand.

I lied down, arm extended....HWaaaahhhhattthhhheefuck! starts putting in 8 real stitches in my pinky with no local, solid metal needle going through my little finger...you kunt!!!

I'll never forgive the fucker, never been back there. Probably not the worst, but the only thing that comes to my adult mind. Plenty of silly accidents as a kid, but don't remember the pain now.

Holy crap! I almost passed out reading this, lord knows what it must've been like to live it.

Well done for surviving such an experience.

Had you really pissed someone off or was it an accident?

Naomi, I was 15. She broke my heart.

Otherwise I've lived a charmed life...physical pain wise anyway. No broken bones, no toothache, no bits being cut off me or stabbings.

I hope I'm not storing it all up for a real bad one! Maybe I should go and break something, just in case like...
"Slavery is the daughter of darkness; an ignorant people is the blind instrument of its own destruction; ambition and intrigue take advantage of the credulity and inexperience of men who have no political, economic or civil knowledge. They mistake pure illusion for reality, license for freedom, treason for patriotism, vengeance for justice."-Simón Bolívar

had my left hand and my right leg below the knee hacked off after losing a bet in a bar once.
'kkin doc stitched 'em all back on without anaesthetic coz he sed it was too dangerous to administer a general anaesthetic to drunk people.

Came off my bike in Phuket and got up to find I had a bone sticking out if my shoulder.
The nice policeman came up and stuck me in a tuk tuk.
Delivered to the hospital (the tuk tuk driver had to dive into my pockets to retrieve his fare, guess how much he took?).
Met at the entrance with a wheelchair and straight upto reception.
The pain was starting to kick in and nurse walks up and starts tapping on my shoulder (the one with the bone sticking out) and saying "mister, mister. You have insurance?
I screamed blue murder at her and the hospital refused to treat me until I apoligised to that f**ker of a nurse!.
    Final result?
Told the fat bitch to f**k off and get me to an International hospital (yes, I was insured) and I was diagnosed with a fractured and dislocated shoulder..

Yep, same question, same answer... Had to have a planters wart removed from the bottom of my foot... The injections were the worst part of it, which includes the 1 year for the damn thing to heal after the surgery...

Another instance of pain that was off the scale... News Years eve, 1996, Sun Valley ski resort, -10F outside, skiing one of the back bowls... I took a rather impressive fall and blew out my left knee... By the time I got down the mountain to the med center, it was swollen twice it's size... No pain injections, only oral Tylenol #3, packed in ice for the night... Spent New Years eve in the fookin' hotel room with the GF... Torn ACL and ligaments was the final diag and required surgery to fix + a long rehab...

I got another that I will not mention as I will never hear the end of it...
Give a man a match, and he'll be warm for a minute, but set him on fire, and he'll be warm for the rest of his life.
