    Show us your kitchen

the house that I bought came in typical thai style, no kitchen.
My wife seemed happy enough to cook and wash up outside, but it's really no way for a civilised gentleman of Wales to be living.

We decided to build this kitchen onto the back, in truth it has made all the difference to my standard of living.
Thai people that visit are not sure what to make of it because it has a roof and walls.

This is the entry into the kitchen from my living room, not the beautiful colour.

This is my fridge, again note my impeccable taste.

This is my kitchen from a diferent angle.
I'm not happy with the wall tiles, they were left overs from one of my bathrooms..

i like the concrete, tiled work tops that he built, this extends right across the side of the kitchen and allows plenty of workspace.

    Another view..

I'm very happy with the work done.

I think i ended up paying 25,000 baht for it, and hopefully it has added some value to my property.

CMN ... would it be possible for you to share a photo from the back of your house ? I'd like to see how you did the addition. I need to do the same thing to my house in Phichit.

Sure, i'll have to do it after work though.

Basically we only had a couple of metres depth to play with, so it was built onto the back wall of the house and encroaches somewhat onto the house behind me, nobody lives there yet, though I do wonder what might happen when someone moves in.

Thanks CMN. I let the wife build the house without my supervision. She did a damn fine job except for the lack of kitchen and the gawd awful white tile she used on the floors.

^Wow, I take it back about your house being nice, feking gay rainbow colours an' all that.

I will take some pics of my kitchen when I get back, though I really need to do some work on it. I've got an inside bit which is kinda half utility room/half kitechen and a kind of outside (but under cover) bit similar to CMN's kitchen.

Top: my current dump, I can't believe I can make anything more complex than a sandwich here with the lack of room. Fan over stove doesn't even vent outside. Not enough counter space, and, sink is opposite stove (if it looks odd it's because I took two photos and edited them in Photoshop to make one image...that's why the wall in the back looks strange).

Bottom: current plans for house in Thailand. Notice the window right by the stove (I'm getting a Chinese stove, the 3D program doesn't have such a model), the sink(s) by the stove, and, the vast amount of counter space.

Surasak, that is a luxury kitchen by Thai house (even nice ones) standards, although mine is quite nice, but small.

I think I am moving house soon though.

she carefully glossed over that one on purpose.

can't you learn to quit while you're ahead?

And Surasak, I think you will find that sink arrangement clumsy in real life.

You need access to the dishes on the draining board so that someone can wipe up whicle you are washing up.

A woman would put the sink area up in the corner running at right angles to the cooker.
