deep down, how long do you think you'll be here?

    i really like it here.
    really, really like it.

lots of reasons for that, but how long can it last?

I've been here going on 6 years and have never left the country, I really don't want to.

I will be here, I think as long as I'm allowed to be here. i don't want to go back to the UK for any reason.
People pay 1000,s of pounds for a couple of weeks that i get paid for.

how long do you think you'll be here?

Same as you CMN I plan on staying here as long as possible. Only reason I would leave would be if the country became really unstable or bird flu was rampent. Mind you injoy going home for a couple of weeks every year to see the family

So I guess I will be here for about 40 or 50 years if all goes to plan

and that's sort of my point.
i am forever doing stuff wrong and so far haven't been caught.
His story about being connected is inersesting.

Can't see me leaving. Built a house, got a car , dog, cat and a missus.

Problem is, living in Phuket, I see more of the family than if I lived in Wigan.

Hmmm, I'm not sure......I get your point CMN, you'd like to stay, but you not sure that something isn't going to fock up somewhere at sometime - like ripping up some big guys passport or killing the neighbours dog

I feel the same, but I'm pretty sure I'll have to go back to the UK for a few years within the next 10 or so years for several reasons - I'm not looking forward to it and I'll probably try to get out of it.

Anyway, I wouldn't worry CMN, this kind of thing only seems to happen to succesful businesses....

I think everyone gets a bit jaded with where they live, hell I can't even be bothered driving 2 km down the road to shag this really nice gal that works in the Jade bar, and I have been meaning to for the last 6 months.

I think after a few years in one area you do need a change of scenery, ok Pattaya is a bit differant and maybe 8 years is enough for here, I really can't remember when I started to get a little bored of it, but I do feel the need to visit other places, and it is growing stronger with each year.

Impossible to predict. I went to Saipan on a 90 day work detail and stayed for 26 years.

I came here 18 months ago to retire and intend to stay. But who knows what might come up.

But, I do know that unless my income quadruples I won't be heading to the US any time soon.
