Scampy gives 22,500 to blind charity

Yeah, I did this video for only 7,500 baht, on i-movie 2006 and shot on a crappy Panasonic tourist camcorder and with no tripod.

    15min and still no answer

so how exactly did you donate that much money ? or did you tap in the trust fund ? if you did tap in the trust fund, then a very noble gesture and congratulations

He has managed to pull off the rarely achieved feat of the double-gauche: self-promotion of charitable activity; and forum declaration of drunkeness.

Now it remains to be seen if he can get the tri-fecta... A semi-coherent babble about how 'wicked' he is.

Scampy : doing a lot of good work for charity and liking to talk about it.

If TGS didn't actually give his money to charity, I trust that he will now save face given the title of this topic - and do precisely that.

I took a substantial pay cut as it was for charity, 'cause that's the kind of guy I am.

So they actually paid you something? And the 22.5k was the discount from your usual fee?

But you did ask for and receive some fee then ! Rather than the blind kids getting that residual sum, it went into your beer kitty? I jolly well hope so.

The usual fee was 30k, they couldn't afford it but I felt morally obliged to ask what they could afford and ended up doing it for 7,500.

Today I didn't buy a pint of beer at The Robin Hood and saved myself 160 baht.

if it was really charity, it should have been done for free

Scampy gave me the same discount once, 7.000 instead of 30.000, only because I paid for his beers

What would be the point in taking 30k off them and sorting out change to give them 22,500 back?

Surely it's more logical to just charge less as I did.

There are no rules to this, I could sell you a brand new Honda Jazz for 5 baht but make a condition that you had to buy it together with a pencil and charge 40,000 for the pencil.

Marketing companies do this all the time, like those Boots ads where you buy one bottle of shampoo for 80 baht and get one free, really you are paying 40 baht each and getting an extra one you don't need - if that's how you choose to look at it.
