How many millions do you want?

There are some that their never ending quest for money will be the death of them and there are some that have set goals, so how much money are you looking for?
I remember discussing this with a thai friend about 16 years ago, 1 million baht would have kept him happy, ok that was a long time ago and now isn't realistic, but at that time if he had 1,000,000baht he would have retired, and probably drunk himself to death, so what is a realistic figure?

I could of retired a long time ago and lived quite comfortably but having children at a relatively late age has put paid to that.

Having said that they keep me feeling young and are well worth the effort.

Kids put the kibosh on savings, taking into account the schooling and uni costs and it puts years on top the retirement plan.
I need a lot more now than I did, cant put a figure on it yet coz it keeps changing

You're right. That's why we won't go there.

I asked her today if she fancied adopting a kid.

Standard wait to work out what I wanted her to say.

I mentioned that 75 % of the work would be hers.

She replied, " no problem, but what's wrong with another dog?"

    "Fair point", I said.

    She then added the comment..........

    " Dogs don't talk."

    Does it for me.

Was quite happy with what Mrs Betty Windsor sent every month + a couple of meager company pensions - boosted lately with re-entering the insurance world and that covers rent and utility bills .
    Suits me !!

My aim is one million US dollars in the bank, not including house, car and toys.

What I've ended up with is enough for my lifestyle, but nowhere near enough for my lifestyle as it used to be.

I'm not yet 50, and could quite easily go back to work if I wanted, but really not bothered. So 'how much is enough' is just a function of where you live and how you spend it. I'm glad I got the 'high rolling' thing done and dusted early, because it means I know how ultimately shallow it is, and don't miss it. A basically simple life with the occasional splurge is fine for me.

When i was really really young, it was 5 bths I wished for, which at that time is BIG money for me. I regretted afterward.

So now....the more is the better!
Thinking how to spend it...is better than thinking how to make it

Why the regret? Because you didn't wish for more? :-)
