There used to be a Pakistan International Airlines jumbo jet permanently parked next to the runway at Islamabad. The pilot, ex air force, forgot to drop the wheels and did a belly flop on the runway.

Actually Qantas has had very few gaffs and in fact has one of, if not the, best safety records in the world.

I must admit, I was always fed the line that QANTAS had one of the best records and was still fatality free.

Has that changed? What these Nawty Little Roos been doing?

They still have a no fatalities safety record. (since 1945 I think) There have been a few incidents in the last few years but nothing involving fatalaties.
Their aircraft and hosties are getting on and they slashed the maintenance a few years ago so really it's just a matter of time unfortunately.

    Gaffs and Cockups

seems to have been quite a few real cockups by QANTAS in the last 3 years, even without fatalities, according to civil air authorities in Brisbane, only roughly 25% get reported immediately, but brisbane airport seems to be cock up central, whether in the terminal or on the tarmac, The Courier Mail ran a whole series about Qantas and Brisbane Airport cockups will try and locate it, it does not Matter whether they spell itQuantas, Quntas or QANTAS they are and always will be Crap

Yeah....unfortunately with such a great record of safety from a great airline from the greatest country in the world that matters.....every day that passes is one day closer to that fatefull day.
