A Technical Question About A TV...

I live in Pattaya and bought an LG TV. I want to buy a cable to run from my PC to the TV(Audio and Video inputs), but I can't get to anyone at LG Thailand(web sites are all in Thai) to give me this information. What to do? It's not in the instruction manual, by the way....

Can you give us the model number of your TV?
How far is the PC from the TV?

If the LCD TV can be used as a monitor, you just need the connecting cable with two screw in type plugs on each end. I mean the plugs have 15 pins and the plastic casing screws onto the socket

I recently bought an LG and the cables were in the packaging

it is just a normal cable and can be bought from any computer shop

They also supplied an audio cable with normal coax sockets

How about an optical cable. Does that do sound and picture? The audio cables that I have won't fit into the stereo jack on my laptop.

Indeed but distance from PC still a big factor in setting up the best way to get audio and video out of the PC to the TV.

I have a setup where all my music is on the PC in my office and I connect to an amp on the audio system in the living room. I don't bother with video as I simply make a CD/DVD from any movies I have on the computer then play them on the home theater player.

Get a video card with HDMI outlet if you have not one already. Connect Computer with HDMI to TV. Sound and picture sorted.

Sorry I'm late with this. My PC is a Toshiba Satellite Notebook A105, with these ports:
4 USB ports, an RGB(Monitor) port, an S-video(TV out) port, an iLINK port, and the following slots: DVD-ROM, PC Card and Express Card. My LG TV is 29FD1R.
Anything else?

Yup, HDMI is your friend. Looks like big USB port on the back of the TV somewhere. Get a cable with HDMI one end and VGA (r digital if supported) on the other end that plugs into where the monitor would on your PC.
