    What A Shite Day!

Following a fantastic weekend where I jet seted off to Koh Mak for 24 hours and then went to play with some awsome RC Cars on Monday, TODAY HAS BEEN A LOAD OF CRAP!!!

It started badly last night when I couldn't sleep at all because it was the first night off the beers since Friday (I can never sleep the first night) but I took it in my stride and really enjoyed posting my pics on TD from the rc day the day before. Then it starts to rain. And I'm sat on my porch thinking "This is really hard rain" and I thought about the old TV thread on rain but then thought better about posting about it.

By this time it's 3 o'clock in the afternoon and the water is approaching my kitchen door. I looked over at the drains thinking "I'd better text my boss telling him I'm going to be half an hour late cleaning the drains and then go to work" as I'm texting him this torrent of water starts russing towards my house and my hands start to shake, foking up the text.

By the time I've stuck some crap shorts on to deal with the problem the water is already entering my house. I live in cental Bangkok so never expected this, and I've been at this house for more than 2 years and never seen it before.

Here are some pic's. Sorry about the quality, I didn't want to drop my new phone or mates camera in the water so stuck my sim in my old phone and used the camera on that. They're a bit small aswell.

    Here's my drive way:

Here's my back patio, its normally about 8" to the floor which is blue like the sides. There's a dog bowl floating around appy as larry.

Here is my beloved sofa, you just can't find shit this comfortable anymore and its seats 8 and sleeps 3.

At least It didn't get the new T.V but my favorite art (which i know wish i'd hung on the bloody wall) took a bit of a wash.

    Gardens Fucked!!

As is the antique (spelling, don't give a crap anymore) wooden floor! (Brother in law in pic)

I wish I'd tought of putting all my furniture on top of the landlords before it came into the house!

The problem was I panicked and the first thing I did was un-plug the plasma and playstation 3 and then ran back (slipping on a leaf once) and shutting down the main power to the house.

What I sould have done is shut down the main power and then save the sofa.

The whole thing happened in under 8min! It was unstopable! The dogs were a pain in the arse and would go out the way to the 2nd floor. They wanted to fok around in the water!

Anyway I did my best to bail out as much water as possible and then got to work 4 hours late only to find out that tonight we have the decoraters in until 8-9am, hence the late hour of me ranting. So I've made a bed in the restaurant and after the next beer I'm gonna try to get some kip but they have all the lights on and it stinks of paint!

Before I go I'll tell a funny story about turning the electics back on.

I went down the street to try to borrow a water pump but everyone was using thiers and I noticed that everyone had thier lights on. So I asked one neighbour if this was safe and another piped up saying

"Yes don't worry, I did the electrics for your house and I put all the sockets at waist height incase of this situation"

I then asked my wife to say to him was he confident enough then to turn mine back on for me. She was too grenji to ask but said that she would stand in the water whislt I turned them on and if she was getting electicuted I could turn them off.

So I went around the whole house and checked every wire and wall with the palm of my hand and sure enough they were all waist height. So standing on a wooden chair and a pile of towels I nervously turned the power back on whislst everyone stood in the street.

"What the fok do I do now baby" I said stood on the death chair, " Can you test it for me now?" I shouted "I don't want to now baby" she called back.

But as I'd swithed on all the lights down stairs before fliking the power switch and nothing had blown out I was 95% confident it was safe. So I gave the water a flick of the tips of my fingers to make sure, and then plunged my hand down making the electricuting body movment and screaming my head off.

Everyone watching started to scream so I stood up calmly and said " Yep every thing seems to be fine here"

You have to, Its just got worse aswell. The decorator have just told me they've finished and I've forgotton my bloody house keys!! I may aswell stay and drink and go home as my wife is getting up rather than ruin her work day with me popping off to the toilet for a piss every ten minuites whist she's in her last hour of sleep.

    Actually that sounds rather good.

Please delete any posts I make that are utter shite KW.

It couldn't, my house is lower than the street which was still, when I went to work pissing water out the drains. Coz the river is too high!

My wifes uncle arrived equipped with a high powered army issue pump and apparently I can go home now and it's gone, but everyone was too tired to clean it with floor cleaner coz they'ed been up watching the pump all night.

Yeah right! Try doing it with a bucket for four hours on your own and then go to work you lazy bastards!!! (Sorry)

I went next door with the intention of asking them "could I pump the water into your garden but they had a bloody lake! It hadn't reached thier front door though and i'm no water expert. I had about 260sqm about 8" deep to get rid of. I reakon they could have handled it but they have kids so didn't want to bother them.

kudos for a sense of humour in that situation, though i guess if you're gonna laugh about it later you might as well laugh about it as it's happening...

yesterday was miserable with the flood everywhere,

the soi was flooded in a matter of minutes,

it took me 30min to get to TESCO instead of the usual 5min because cars were floating like boats,

then it was rush hours in TESCO, took 30min to leave the parking lot instead of 5min, and that was after waiting 25min at an overcrowded Pizza Hut getting an overpriced crappy pizza,

then another 30min to get back instead of 10min because more cars were floating at the end of the soi,

    complete disaster for 2 hours,

^ if u lived in Thai for a number of years. Commonsense would dictate not to go out when there are floods everywhere. But you being French might have some difficulty comprehending this simple thought.

Ha ha, NO! you twat! Only jokin! Sorry about the last post before, KW was right I could hardly even type i was so drunk.

I've just got home and the water has all been pumped out and although I could never imagine the scale that those guys went through in hurricane Katrina and I would never ever compare my situation to thiers, I feel like this house has just been through hurricane Katrina.sorry!

It Bloody stinks! The wooden floor is warped already, the walls are a blacky yellow a bit like a bruse (again spelling who gives a crap) the sofa stinks and has aslo gone black and yellow and there is just a look of destruction about the place. Anyway gona give the cleaner a call and see what she can do with it. If nothing then it's back to the drawing board and find a new place whilst were waiting to buy. If anyone has any info on a place then I'm looking fo a min of 1/4 rai with a nice house on it, with some air con and a decent kitchen and living room. Cheers.

Here are some picks of the very happy peeps that greeted me like a king this morning like they always do.

This is my youngest Nin Jah who I found as a 3 week old pup at my farrang mates dad's funeral in Shitaheap near Pattaya.

She's very glad to be back on dry land!

This is Talen who is the queen of the house and answers only to me She was from Soi Dog Rescue at about 1 1/2 months.

And here's Talung being agrophobic as ever inside the house. This tropical storm really didn't help his case! He was from the same place as Talen but from a different litter. I took him because he was the runt getting beaten up by the rest. Nothing changed there then.

Just to give you a bit of size and depth comparison, here is part of the house that as previously under water in a prev pic

Sorry I can't spin it around I need to go to sleep, but Nin Jah gives a bit of size comparison.

I took a huge dump and the toilet NEARLY overflowed when I flushed. Scary.

But seriously, sorry to hear about the mess. Flooding is a terrible disaster, the water ends up rotting everything so there is so much to replace/fix. Perhaps your next abode will be a traditional home on stilts setup?

yes , time to move for sure.
I was in a place a couple of years ago , same moobarn , and it flooded one day to a depth of about 4 inches.

moved very quickly to another place and this is what we get now - still not too good - this was 2 weeks ago

If you torture data for enough time , you can get it to say what you want.
