However, some of the "older" people here may (or may or not) be interested.

But what on earth do you make of this?

Who can guess who the person circled is? The young guy marching with the German Nazi Elite during a funeral procession? (It surprised me!!) It's taken (I believe in 1937) His family are on either side of him.

It is simply a photo from 1937, showing the current husband of the QUEEN of England, marching with the Nazis.

Though Phillip did admit to an admiration for the Nazis many people admired them at the time. We know now that the Nazis were evil but that's with the benefit of hindsight. He also admitted to being anti-semitic in the Thirties but it doesn't necessarily follow that he wanted to annihilate them. Anti-semitism was part and parcel of life back then, sadly.

Back before the war a great many people, some of whom later became the strongest enemies of the Nazis, admired the way the Nazi party had brought Germany back from the brink of ruin. It wasn't immediately obvious, although it should have been, where the Nazis were heading. I believe that many of us, if we'd been alive at the time, would also have found much of what they did admirable. Hindsight, as the saying has it, is 20/20 but it doesn't help us with understanding how people felt at the time.

Exactly, it was his sister's funeral in germany so no wonder at that time a lot of the influential people showed up in nazi uniforms. No big deal I would say.

So, no one out there finds it at least a little bit strange, or even questionable, that, the current husband (and then go and take a look at some of his family) had pretty close ties to the Nazis?

I find it unbelievable that you show so little interest in the recent history of the world, and you sit back and blindly believe the shit fed to you on a spoon by the press.

What on Earth is Philip the Greek doing surrounded by former nazis, some of whom are his family ( and SS commanders) and you say "so what"

The Queen of England married a Nazi sympathiser, the queens government was later led by the Jewish sympathiser Churchill, and 50 + million people died...there there never mind...
