Interesting history lesson, but I wonder whether he'd like to publish it under his real name? If not, surely he's as much part of the problem as the 'brown-nosers' he denigrates?

Perhaps old Siam and contemporary Thailand was never prone to be Western-like. Why would 'we' insist to view any ancient Asian culture to emulate us?

Not quibbling, but I've just today been thinking about all these accepted concepts of how Asia regards the western influence as bad, and how the Thai for instance always have to try to curb the 'bad' western influence....

The list is awesome. 99.9% (est) of what they use, travel in, live in, use to entertain themselves, personal hygiene products, etc etc etc came from the west. Hey Babies, you are permanently and successfully westernised. Now pray ask yourselves, how can a thousands-year old culture survive in a new world? Yes, you got it, good boys and girls. Adapt or die. Not my law, the law of Life. Don't blame the west, you voluntarily bought the shit. Remember your own rule? You buy the shit you own the shit, don't bring it back. Hehe.

Btw, I am African, not western. A bloody Westernised African.

Sorry FF, if it wasn't for Asia, European cultures would have never developed. Contributions and influence regarding every aspect of your existences are Asian-based.

Middle-east based, perhaps, but a lot of their influence came from the Greeks.

Thailand has every right to be a backward, nonsensical, petty nation of farmers and thieves.

By most accounts they're making great strides toward that end. I wish them well.

So, if any of you lot are into a "Long" but interesting read, then take it a step further and see what you make of this..it's a bit of a read, but if it is actually true (especially regarding species..toward the end of the book, it throws a whole different light on perceptions) Oh, and please don't bother spouting "comments" without at least reading it, I know, it is a bit controversial, and the Liberals will probably spout the usual SHITE before actually reading it...but anyway..have a go..we seem to have quite a bit more in common with the Asians than we think!

    http://www.erectuswalksamongst.us/

Enjoy, it's a bit of a read...but give the guy the benefit, it appears to be well researched!

complete non-sense !!! almost spoken like a true muslim fanatics. Using a western product hardly make you a westerner, or think like a westerner, or become fully westernized. Only if it was that simple !!! by your logic, having a monkey use human products, would make him act and think like a human ? ridiculous,

Give me another clue then, most of the research I have done puts capitalism down as starting in Northern England and Scotland during the 1700's.

I don't have the time for 'highly subjective historical research' right now unfortunately.

Why don't you just tell me? I would certainly appreciate the knowledge. And I mean that with sincerity.

Yes. Please tell us your little secret about the birth of capitalism RS. We're all dying to hear your version. No doubt it will contain something along the lines of beginning in Asia, someone will challenge it and you will post some undecipherable nonsense then scuttle off to some other thread never to be heard from again.

Well if it wasn't for Africa, Asia wouldn't have developed....blah, blah, blah...

So what? As things stand today, most of Asia is backward and the people are only fit for use as cheap labour (which is more than the Africans are good for).

That's a bit harsh...but probably true at the minute, but give it time until the US/Europeans have been destroyed by their own Nanny States, and their influx of "refugees", then Asia will be an economic and Military force to be reckoned with! The Asians are not spending Billions on Social Security looking after the worthless, they are not throwing money into a black hole to take care of ANYONE, but the US and Europe are....where are they putting their money? It's not into education/Welfare/Medical care...

Have you ever got that right, Just look what has taken place and happened to Africa since the natives ran the honkeys back to Belgium or what ever part of Europe they came from and took over the governance and production of the lands of Africa starting about 40 years ago.
They have turned a very fertile and rich country into the worst shit hole on the face of this planet.
They lay and starve to death on land that could feed the world if they got off their ass and let someone come in and make a dollar and they would share in the wealth and not have to starve, but would have to do a days work for a days pay, which the Negro race is unable to do by themselves no matter what country they are in, they can work but without the will to do so and must be forced either thru hunger or fear and even if driven thru hunger they still need to be led in the correct direction or they are like their chimpanzee brethren, they just raise hell and steal or lay and starve.
At least under the slavery option they were taken care of. Housed, fed, and had their medical problems attended to and for which they traded labor, so what is different today is they do nothing but receive the same benefits thru world charity org, The UN, or states and country govts do it for them but they do nothing in return except steal, deal drugs and gang murders and breed the next generation starting at age 15 or less.
Now this is not so with all, but the majority, but to say all would be like saying All Muslims are terrorists, which is not so, but the great majority of terrorists are Muslims.
