I'm a gigolo.
I got where I am today by not being where I was yesterday and thinking of being somewhere else tomorrow.
I'm working on it mate!Originally Posted by Loy Toy

I'm about 3 miles from where I was born.
That's a average velocity of about 0.00001 miles per hour south.
That's about half as fast as a banana slug
"A large banana slug has been observed to cover 6.5 inches in 120 minutes. At that rate, a tortoise would seem fleet-footed."

I got where I am today by making decisions right or wrong, and only my demise will distinguish the two.
I'm not quite there yet.How did you get where you are today?
Worked hard, never gave up, and got a lucky break
Its all subjective really. What I consider successful, you may not, and vice versa. I`m not rich, and never will be in my line of work, but, I help make a difference to peoples lives, so I consider myself successful.
Same here, and always learned something from the experience too.
I aint superstitious, but I know when somethings wrong
I`ve been dragging my heels with a bitch called hope
Let the undercurrent drag me along.
I was brought up woefully lacking in guidance & it shows in my life today, but I think you get two lives - the one you are given & the one you make for yourself.
I also believe you do not choose what you will become, but that you become the sum of your choices.
I'm looking forward to seeing where I end up.
Ha ha, Banana slug, you might be fast, but you're not looking where your going!

I do want to read that book.
I made it on my own. Never complain and never explain (Disraeli, not that stupid Hemingway chick). Decided what I wanted, and went out to get it. Sure, went thru some really sh*te times, but you pick yourself up and bladdy well get on with it. Had many great times, too, even when we had nothing (hey, how many friends can you feed with one box of Kraft dinner? Many, as long as you have Hendrix, Joplin and alot of laughs for dessert).
i always believed there is no such thing a s luck, you are given choices and its up to you whether they are right or wrong, i was just reflecting last night about this recession shit, the last one we had i did good and at this point its looking bloody good again for 09 if i can get a few round poles in the square ones thing will fall into place, and i believe in myself and i don,t really give a fuck if others don,t like my decisions after all they are mine..so hard work and the right choices got me here and a bit of money will get me there![]()
Already explained my tale of how I got here today to MissisMiggins:
https://teakdoor.com/the-teakdoor-lou...tml#post941654 (Beyond Reality!)
meandered in search of hedonism, was led by and mastered circumstance at the right times
not really planned but not entirely random
its a good question
I reckon most of it is luck, we didn't go to school / college etc. with the dream of ending up here...it's a bit of a path, probably for most "NOT PLANNED", me for one never expected to be living here, it just sort of "turned out "this way!
Being in the right place at the right time when a door opened !
I was offered a trip here by the Thai government, paid for in full and staying at the Ambassador Hotel on Sukhumvit (11 days in all).
My responsibility was to hold seminars at a few Universities about product design and production machine building, meet a few local manufactures and I did make contact my now partner during that visit.
Never knew anything about Thailand and would never have come here if it was not for that first offer.
Patience, foresight, devotion, persistence and focusing (maybe to a fault of obsession)
