I foking hate Dubai. I'm sure there are some fans here, and I don't really care... I'm in UAE now and I have to go through here everytime I leave work, and stay for 1-2-3 days.

Airport sucks, people trying to cut you in all the god damn lines... You have to befend your position almost with violence. The Indian and whatever else nationality's stand WAY TOO FUCKING CLOSE and do not have ANY idea of personal space. I dont want to smell the breath of the guy behind me....

Hotels are REDICULOUSLY expensive, and try to fuck you everyway they can. Same with taxis.

Women/Prostitutes in the bars are fucking vultures and you cant even drink and relax. You are always swatting them away like flys. On top of that, they ask CRAZY prices. God it makes me laugh.

I just got a beer (Budwiser) from the hotel bar last night, and it was TEN FOKIN DOLLARS!!! What.... The.... Fuck....

The Hotel Internet connection Im using now is 20 god damn dollars per day!

Dubai was OK about 20 years ago when I used to work there !
Also Abu Dhabi - Centre Hotel in Sheik Hamdan Street had Blackthorn Cider on draft at about 1.5 gbp a pint - buy one get one free between 6 and 8 in the evening as well !

^^I got some friends that absolutely LOVE Dubai... All I can do is stare at them in utter amazement at there ignorance.

Oh, I got more complaints. I dont know about anyone else, but I get hasseld HARD by the customs/police pukes when I am going out of the airport. I have full sleeve tattoos on both arms, but I stay coverd when I exit the airport. Im also 25 years old. EVERY TIME I try to leave the Airport, I get picked out of the line and told to give them my passport. I have to go in some room off to the side and get a full search. I mean I have to take off my schoes, shirt, pants, EVERYTHING except my boxers. Then, when They see my tattoos, they start. They look in EVERYTHING I have. I mean EVERYTHING! Every pair of pants in my bag, every pocket of everything. Man, its very FUCKING uncomfortable standing in some room with 2 arab guys (one in a police outfit, and the other in the traditional white dress) in my boxers. What the Fuck?!?!?!??! Finally after about 1-1.5 hours of this shit they give me my passport and let me go... Cigarette is soo good after a Trans-Atlantic flight and a full search by Dubai Customs. Bastards...

Yeap I think so. I worked in Basra Iraq, and have to go through Kuwait sometimes. I NEVER get shit like I do in the Dubai Airport.

Yeah they pay for the hotel and food, but beers and taxis are on me. When I fly out of Iraq, I have to stay in Dubai for a day or 2 and wait for my commercial flight. and its the same on the way back. I have to sit here and wait for the Charter to Bagdad.

Dubai airport has possibly the best duty free in the world. Its a busy airport, lots of people sleeping rough in the public areas. Its not ideal but i'd rather be holed up there for 4 hours than that Kuwait.

Been to Dubai maybe five times. I didn't mind the place, and was jealous of their fuel burning gas guzzlers and dirt cheap petrol- but HK, where I lived, was much more my style.

The airport is great, the city excellent for that part of the world etc . . . I'm surprised you're complaining after working in Iraq.

Dubai was part of my patch (EMEA) when I was based in Paris and it certainly was the best place around the territory aside from Seth Efrika. You should try Lagos, Cairo, Nairobi etc . . .
