Hmm, I posted back end of last week about a swarm of bees that invaded and then suddenely left. Well, today I found them or rather THEY FOUND ME!
Cutting the 3 M shit grass that has regrown around the Lam Yai trees, ( I was on a mission - 20 Rai of SHITE to clear before the new buds start! With one of those two wheeled inverted helicopters, that are good at removing the lower parts of your legs) I was on the worst row, with the worst grass, it was 50cm forward, 50cm back..real shit grass. I had been back and forward a few times already, but I got to this one tree and was having to really force the mower through to clear around the base of the tree, when suddenely, the sky went black! It was swarming with bees.
I grabbed the mower and dragged it backwards for about 30M, and got out of their way. Everything seemed OK. Rather than go back, I started to clear the tree nearest to me, and within seconds these fuckers set about me, the first bastards got me in the inside of my lips, the next few went for my head and neck, I didn't even have a chance to switch the machine off..I just ran like hell.
Ten minutes later, my mouth is like a football, my head and neck whilst not swollen, is extremely painful. Now I have to go and retreive the mower...'cause the thing is running at about 4000 RPM on its own...so full metal jacket...Anorak, hood up, sunglasses, teat towel over the mouth, hat, and it's bloody hot. Anyway managed to get it back. I have been stung on numerous occaisons here ( the worst being the Tor Hua Sua) but these bastards today did some damage, but I was surprised how painful these bastards were! Normally the "Mee Pung" etc, only irritate, but these buggers hurt.
At least I know where the bees have gone...honey/death is not too far away.

Never saw bees in Thailand. Wasps, yep. Look for the honeycomb.
