hedgehog pets need home, farang owner passing away

A fellow foreigner I know, a very sweet lady who has lived in Thailand for over 20 years suffered a massive stroke yesterday. The doctors now say she will likely not live through the night. She has no known relatives, and no boyfriend or husband in Thailand. She has two hedgehog pets that she cared deeply for. I am posting to see if anyone is interested in taking these animals. Otherwise they will be handed over to the animal foundation, and probably wind up for sale on the street or Jatujak. Anyone interested in providing a caring home please pm me within a day or two as it is difficult to travel to her place and continually care the them. Thank you

Yeah I might very well take them, are they those dwarf hedgehogs you see at JJ? I've been looking at them for a while at the market.

Actually I guess they gonna take a bit of responsibility and some time right? Might be best to scrub me off the list. But if you really can't find a home for them then maybe I know someone who wants them in Bangkok.

    Where are they located?

I don't know what kind they are, but her place is at latprow 87, condo town 2. My co-worker or myself will be available tomorrow afternoon if you (or someone else) would like them.

How big are they? What are they feeding on? Do you have a cage for them?

Lad Prao just down the road from me actually.

Unfortunately, I cannot give an accurate description as I have not seen the hedgehogs in person. My co-worker saw them for the first time when she went to the apartment to take her to the hospital. The lady talked quite a bit about her hedgehogs, saying she cuddled with them and and often let them sleep in her bed when she slept. From her body language, it looked as though they were quite small. I can provide more information in the morning, please pm me your number and I can have her call you with more details.

Are these native to Thailand? Anything like hedgehogs in Northern Europe? I could set them free in my garden, if you'd like, but no way am I taking a hedgehog into the house.

If they are the ones typical in Thailand they are no bother and are nice little fellas. Have a friened who has two and they are good pets. Easy to take care of.

I think they are being picked up by a friend of mine today, but can't speak to him on the phone at the moment so don't know what's happening.

Hope he's got them, I can go round and see them without having to take on the responsibility of looking after them 24/7, kind of like knowing someone with kids.

Stroller [Spiff] would take them off your hands if they are fat and oven ready.

Thanks for the interest, but they have been turned over to the animal foundation already. Extra thanks to bkkmadness for the extra effort. hopefully the animals will wind up in a good home.
