Footage on the news the other night about tent cities springing up in towns and cities across the U.S as people lose their homes and jobs. Sad.

Is that a design upgrade on the McDonalds uniform?

I guess the board of directors sat around a big table and decided that having a new uniform would boost the company's image and make them more money.

    Cnuts.

Fuck the UK, they are not alone and everyone is whinging because they can't afford two cars. It's a global problem, the world governments are now trying to inject funds so that banks on shaky ground can get back in the game and banks with solid footings will feel safe in resuming business, that is except for the Icelandic government who are all but bankrupt themselves.

This problem is exacerbated to an extent by ordinary investors panicing and trying to withdraw their funds but in the overall scheme of things they are small fry. Okay I can understand if you have all your money in one bank but even so if you get the funds out where are you going to put them? Another bank? You could try moving to a bank that guarantees 100% deposit security but I have my doubts just how secure that is unless the host country's government is backing it.

Yes there is a problem and likely as not there will be a big fuck off recession of some kind and things will not be the same again. But to my mind there's not much point worrying too much. As long as you have diversified your investments as much as practicable you've done all you can. It's too early to be booking space on 14th floor Pattaya condo balconies. Time to stop reading the newspapers (or stick to the comics section.).
"I'm an outsider by choice, but not truly. It's the unpleasantness of the system that keeps me out. I'd rather be in, in a good system. That's where my discontent comes from: being forced to choose to stay outside.
My advice: Just keep movin' straight ahead. Every now and then you find yourself in a different place."

^. Invest in gold is the safest bet. The british gold sovereign or French franc. My mum has done exactly that.

Better to take your money out than not have access to it in my opinion.

^^He was referencing Scampy, not you. Agreed on the gold, so much so I bought at 800 (now 900), but it is nigh on impossible to get your hands on the stuff physically and in short order.

Edit - Madness beat me to it.

Phew, my confidence and self esteem was knocked right down for a moment. Seriously. That's why i try not to leave red for anyone, i don't want them to go through the termoil that i have just felt for those few brief moments.
