Morbid Fascination

I was directed to a website today that had footage of everything from autopsies to car accidents to war crimes to young American jocks eating their own shit and it fascinated me to an extent, all for different reasons.

Some of you may say I'm sick, to which I may say fuck you, but the only thing I benefited from it was that it made me appreciate life more, and since viewing some of the horrid stuff, I have more respect for cockroaches and less for us as a species.

There was a small one in my sink earlier, I scooped him up with a spoon and blew him out the window. He'll survive the fall.

^ Hell yes, and you see the same type of comments on some simple YouTube videos, and (sorry Texpat) it is 9 times out of 10 always young angry dumb American teenagers.

The website by the way is Toxic Junction Entertainment - Extreme Videos, Shocking Videos

Here's what Nooners and I are talking about - a mild example.

These comments - believe it or not, were in response to footage of a motorbike race somewhere in the US maybe Canada and one of the riders hit a railing and came off but fortunately suffered only a broken foot and even did a thumbs up to the camera at the end.

I live in Pattaya and just arrived home from a night at the best kept secrets bar.

No need to reference morbid web sites to enlighten myself about what I might be missing and or avoiding.

Life should be fashioned according to your own experiences either being good or bad.

I think I can extract my mate from that bar and in one piece in about 2 days.

It's like the video equivalent of Rotten.

I'm sure the youngsters of the UK have their share of silly comments and excruciatingly mawkish OMG'S and LOL'S and ROFL'S, however the yank kids are just so angry and over the top it's amazing, frightening really.

It's not a yank bashing thread anyway, just an observation - but isn't everything?

Honestly, I've never wasted my time reading the comments at the bottom.
It's always something like this:

and on and on and on.

Sort of like MKP -- I never read that either.

To be honest I have not opened the web sites nominated nor would I stop to view the morbid results of a road accident. I know what is out there and choose not to become involved for my own and more importantly my families good.

I think the internet has brought the very good and the very, very macabre and horrible right into our homes and I will refrain from viewing anything that I consider sensational and worthless.

For those that like to see someone eat their own shit, crack on!

In Noony's defence, did you or anyone else see it? ...I'm sure it's unpleasant, but can't comment on something I ain't seen. I know people in our respective countries do it every day.

Those sorts of images are strictly forbidden by the State to be broadcast to the citizenry. To protect the soldier's family, of course and not, as some may cynically believe, because the State doesn't need the people to be reminded of the human cost of an immoral war.

I have to agree that it is a pity that so many American Chavs have internet access, though.

I like to check these sites out. But my mood must be right and there are some things i skip as they are just too fucked up. The guy getting his head cut off with a dull ginzu was one I knew would lack prurient interest. Bike wrecks are interesting to me and sometimes make me giggle as I soil myself. Actually thought about stating a miniature td house of horrors pic thread in the family room. You know, little Lilly with her new pink jumper looks as if she is sleeping but has no head as a semi borrowed it for a minute. Upbeat stuff only.

i don't really like watching that stuff but it is morbid fascination of stuff that we don't see everyday that keeps me trawling through, then normally jump to the military pages to watch guns and bombs and stuff
