    Things Thais Are Good At!

The negativity on this forum against our "hosts" is getting unjustified, I prefer to point out their positive contributions to this fair land of "smiles"
Unfortunately, apart from the growing of exceptionally long mole hair or single fingernail, I am at a loss as to their positive contributions.
I am sure that some of the longer enduring ex pats (1000 years or more) must have a story about something that "enlightened" them?
I know that they can distill a form of alcohol from rice, but then are unable to drink it without pissing themselves.
They do have a passion for good food, like raw pork and pigs blood that ends up as liver fluke and bile duct cancer, but there must be more?
Yes, they can balance themselves on a boat made from a piece of wood no bigger than Thaksin's dick... and cast a net, but surely they have some real skills.

Thais are good at not giving a monkeys what farangs think, thus driving farangs into an impotent rage when they realise that rather than worshipping them as great white masters most Thais look on them as being dim but cute, kind of like those fat ugly lapdogs Thai women like so much.

That's true of 90% of the human race, nothing unique to Thailand. Plenty of farang examples of that just on this forum alone.

You reckon they understand one word that "an arseholed farang" talking shit and being pissed is saying?

You obviously think they are as talented as you!

    Positive thoughts hey?

Willing to work, whatever day or time it is and without stopping if a farang will work with them and there is a bonus at the end. (Including a bottle of Sangthip).

No really, if you are willing to put in and lead from the front they will work with you shoulder to shoulder and non stop. Better than working with farangs sometimes and based upon my experiences!

    Yes,
I will buy that, they can pull their weight and again true, if you show a lead they will work their asses off WITH you.
I built a house here, and they did put in the effort, as long as you were working with them, agreed...so now we have a positive! I cannot disagree on that point. (they made a fucking pigs ear of the job...but 10 out of 10 for effort!

Isn't this the same as the 'things Thais are shit at' but in reverse?

Ok, not being aware of sharply turning left immediately after over-taking is really feckin annoying and dangerous. They're good at that.

Crossed posts...I load several threads from the new posts list, and then go through them, so by the time I respond to a post others may already have been entered...^x^ denotes a reply to that post number.

No Thais are shit workers. I worked harder in the UK. They just dag things out. No speed , no incentive. It's the heat that makes you think like this. Put them in a tepid climate and see how they fare.

Tractors are revving. People are coming to the wifes shop to buy ice for their eskies.

By about 0700 it's al gone quiet. I rise, ablute, caffeine, cigarette. And, on occassion take the bike for a wonder out into the fields.

People...... These sons of bitches are working their asses off. It's flat out, in the paddies or on the oranges or on those big grapefruit things. Flat out, sweating buckets.

A pause aroud 12.00. Food, rest and a sleep.

Back at it at 13.30 ish and flat out till 17.00.

    Then walk 2-5 km home.
All this for 250 Baht a day.
Don't tell me they don't work.
None of us would stand the pace.

Add angry smiley but can't be assed.

Thais must be the best truck loaders in the world. In my neck of the woods they load these Tuk Tuks (country one bangers not the little taxis) maybe 30 feet high with ginger or whatever. Never seen them drop one either.

They are excellent at breaking in no time expensive tools that last generations in the west.

that steel thing the blacksmith hammers his iron on it, i'm pretty sure someone seen a broken one over here, to break it you will have to melt it, so they probably did...

Bollocks. I'd love to see you compete. You've said it your self, dummy, the heat. If you're working in heat you go slow. No matter where in the world,. Try the NT for a while, you wouldn't last 5 minutes.
Tepid / cold climate = completely different scenario, but hey, Guess what?

    we're talking about Thailand......

Yes, it's hot here. You, in you air conditioned office and your a/c car , house might not have noticed.
Here, in the rice fields and orchards we've noticed.

You do 8 hours....... I'll give you a thousand bucks, a slap on the back and a bottle of the good stuff. Fair enough?
