    Who cares Klongy?

He asked the question "what is wrong with my bird"

    Answer: She is with him.

    Next question?

It might be easier for some ignorant people (MTD being one of them) to stereotype us all into a few stock characteristics, all it does is show just how out of touch with modern society they realy are.

I think this would be the first thought for many people.

Would her earning more be a problem in your eyes, Smeg? Or are you worried that friends/family might give you a bit of stick for it? Other than that one (non?) issue, I don't see a problem in your scenario. Good luck to both of you, whatever you decide to do.

I'm just pondering things. She is the main reason I've stuck around this region for the past 15 months. Get your dead girlfriend jokes off your chest and let me know your thoughts on taking an asian chick back to your country who could earn more there than you could.

You have a problem with reality Smeg

Malaysians have exactly the same problems visiting the Uk as Thais. They have to jump through the same hoops and need the same qualifications etc

She may be able to work there as the Uk needs lots of extra doctors, but she would have to do some extra training etc.

If you did get married, and she is Malay (not Malaysian?) then that group do have the equivalent of sinsot, a dowry that needs to be paid to her parents. It is not a materialistic thing, although it can be seen as such by those not from that group.

Have you already asked her if she would marry you? you may be living in cloud cuckoo land
    I have reported your post

To be honest, she could probably earn more - and also find it easier to re-qualify - if she moved here to Aus.

Not saying the UK is bad and all, but Aus is very pro medical profession. Especially if she is happy being a GP.

I live in Manchester too & racism (of a confrontational sort) is virtually dead.

Even the BNP have changed their tune.

There is some racism, for sure, but the chances of being abused in the steet are zero.

what ethnicity are you Shitman? If you are a whitey, then most racism would hardly be evident

I note you do say "of a confrontational sort". That is part of the problem of racism, is that it is usually not confrontational but hidden. Like, for some reason, you do not get a job that you are best qualified for.

That's because I was responding to the idea of abuse being shouted in the street. Underlying racism is everywhere.

Thing is - the so-caled 'victims' of racism are often racist themselves.

They can't have it both ways.

You are giving out a lot of false information on the forum lately, including this topic and the topic on how the embassy will help brits in hospital in Thailand.

Check here and you'll see that you are very wrong

We have only brushed the subject so I'm not too sure yet. However, she showed mild interest. I'd be more concerned if it had been her that raised it, but it was me.
