Chin and Sabang's conversation about watches got me thinking about my dearly departed grandfather.
He worked on the railroad from the time he was 16 until he retired in the early 80s. They gave him a gold wristwatch (some wierd connection about trains and timekeeping) when he retired.
He always wore it with the face on the inside of his wrist.
I've had a few dozen wristwatches over the years, but my favorite is my current watch, a $75 Timex. I've worn it on my left wrist face up for more than five years now. I've had a few ~$200+ watches, but they were always crap. I'm somewhat of a loso and prefer function over form anyway. Nothing against those with the wherewithall to splurge, but I can't imagine the difference between a $100 watch and a $10,000 watch except for precious metal and jewels. If I wanted to be precious, I'd wear a tiera.
Tell us about your watch.
