Another Farang Bites The Dust In Pattaya City

Well, I was off to Pattaya this weekend for the wedding of another happy farang friend and his Thai lady. Upon arrival, I found that the groom was distressed and he informed me that the wedding was canceled. His sweet bride was upset because he refused her request to buy her 10 baht gold before the ceremony. He told her that he could not because his money had "run out".

He gave me a list of how much he had spent and wanted to know if he was out of line. The following is in US dollars.

3 flights to Thailand the last 14 months - $6000.00
Money spent on hotels, travel and food on the three trips - $5000.00
VISA lawyers and governement fees for fiancee VISA - $5000.00
Money he has sent her over the last 14 months - $4000.00
Paid her debts off - $3000.00
Sin sot - $2,500.00
Her one way plane ticket to his country - $2000.00
Various wedding expenses - $2500.00
Gold necklace, bracelet, and ring for the engagemet $1000.00

$30,000.00 total.

She had told him that her mama and papa would cover the cost of the wedding party etc. However, when he arrived she hit him up for more money.

He paid for invitations, wedding food and booze, some of her moms debt on a motorbike, her wedding dress, his wedding suit and the cost of a photograher. The total for this was about $3000.00.

So the total was up to $33,0000 and then she hits him up for the gold. He said no, she pouted and was quiet for 2 weeks and then called the wedding off and went back to mama and papa.

When I left him, he was headed to the Walking Street.................

This is another story of a goose that lays golden eggs. The lady was not happy because he did not lay a lot of golden eggs every day. She got upset and killed the goose. Now she will not get anymore eggs.

To be honest with you Dalt, she is on the low end of the looks scale. He is a nice guy, does not party and was looking for love. Love is blind sometimes.

Anyways.. I'm not available at present... Speccy Brace Face has won my heart for the time being and if she is in it for the long-con then she is a very good actress and has started very slowly...

In the short term its a lot of money, but in the long run hes saved himself a hell of a lot. Still its yet another sad story coming out of Thailand.
