A Thai police officer dressed as a ‘BDSM sex wrestler’ named Big Bear to entrap a suspect wanted over alleged sex crimes.

Police captain Ponlawat Nakthomya and his colleagues had been hunting Su Xing Rui, 31, but were unable to pin him down in Bangkok, Thailand.
A female decoy was initially used but Su, from China, pulled out and said he would only meet if a bizarre fetish was fulfilled by a heavy-set wrestler.
Mr Ponlawat bravely agreed to the dangerous mission.

The female undercover officer told Su she had an amateur wrestler friend called ‘Big Bear’ and they agreed on a time at a hotel.
Hidden camera footage shows the dramatic moment Mr Ponlawat opened the door in a black singlet and a Satan mask – prompting an excited howl from the suspect.
But seconds later, armed police hiding in the wardrobe leapt out to bundle Su onto the bed and handcuff him.

Adding insult to injury, cops even frogmarched him out to the truck using a leather dog collar he had brought for the romp.
“I laughed when I was asked to wear the wrestling costume. I thought it was a joke at first,” Mr Ponlawat said. “But when they insisted, I realised it was real.
“I understood the seriousness of the situation because the suspect was wanted for crimes against women. I agreed and did my best to work with the team to catch the suspect.”
Officers detained Su at the local station, where he was hit with a barrage of alleged evidence. He was grilled over alleged upskirt pictures on his phone, complaints of groping and one count of date rape.

The suspect told police that he had travelled from Beijing for a holiday visiting Buddhist temples in between working online.
However, police said they did not believe the defence and would hand the case to prosecutors.
Police Major General Teeradej Thumsutee, commander of the Investigation Division of the Metropolitan Police Bureau, explained the undercover sting.

He said a complainant had been unable to get in touch with the suspect after he had allegedly abused them and nobody knew where he was staying, so police needed a ruse to meet him
”We decided to use a beautiful woman to entice him out. But he demanded that the woman bring another man along to take part in swinging,” the officer said.
“He said he wanted a wrestler as the third person and he would be tied up to watch them.
“Unfortunately, we had no choice but to fulfil the request in order to gain his trust and find him.

“Police captain Ponlawat was very nervous but he was safe. The team had six armed officers in total. They were planted in a wardrobe, on the balcony and outside the door.
“The officer will be commended for his work.”
Su denied the charges and was remanded in custody pending a court hearing. Police said he is likely to be deported for visa offence, whatever the outcome of the case.
