BEWARE: New scams and extortion tricks you should be aware of.

Yesterday, mid morning I went to the local bottle shop to buy a bottle of Baileys Liquor as of late I have had a few wins and thought I should reward myself.

Anyway after the purchase I was driving home and I come to a T intersection and I had to turn left.

On the corner, adjacent to a 7 Eleven, there was a Thai guy on a motor cycle who had decided to park right on the corner and on to the road and who I had to drive around to make the left turn.

I drove around him and made the left hand turn and I was almost through the turn when I heard a noise and the guy started shouting.

I stopped my car immediately and walked around the car to see what had happened.

I found the guy laying on the ground with his bike underneath him and he was claiming I had hit him.

I looked at my car's position and clearly I had driven the correct line and somehow the guy had moved his bike out , about 1 metre, to cause the collision.

Then out of the blue this Thai guy shows up, the type of big mouthed cvnt I despise, claiming I had driven into him and I needed to pay money.

To cut a long story short I called my wife and we all went to the police station, me in my car, the motor cycle guy and the big mouth cvnt.

My wife called our insurance company and both my car and the bike was inspected with no damage found on either vehicle.

My insurance guy suggested he suspected a set-up with the guy pushing his bike into my car causing the contact with the big mouth cvnt there to make a big scene.

I handed over my dashboard camera to the insurance guy and he went to 7 Eleven to get a video also.

The wash-up is, and after all the evidence has been considered, I have to go back to the police station on the 29th to learn who the BIB considers to be at fault.

The one thing that really pissed me off is this big mouthed cvnt was claiming I was drunk and I had hit his friend and I even tried to escape the scene which was a load of lies.

The insurance guy also told me the motor bike guy was going on and on about his children at home with no food and now, because I damaged his bike, he could not work. He demanded 1,000 Baht per day whilst his bike was being repaired. My insurance guy told him they would look at the video replays and if I was at fault his company would pay a fair settlement.

With this the big mouthed cvnt started threatening and abusing me and my wife and pissed off screaming and cursing.

Beware of such scams, mainly targeting farangs, as these cretins are only trying to unfairly and illegally steal money.

Today I learned the importance of having a dash camera and those that do not have one should get one.

Just hope they don’t pay the cops. But the insurance won’t want to pay out and will be wise to it all.

I am aware of similar scams whereby people fall across car bonnets claiming they have been driven into.

The common denominator regarding these staged acts is the presence of a Thai male who can speak broken English , who is aggressive and who is demanding money even though he has nothing to do with the actual event.

If my insurance company come back with a report that my experience was a staged event I will approach the police and demand these fraudsters be libel and be arrested for denigrating Thailand's reputation.

The big mouthed cvnt is obviously the instigator of this fraudulent scheme and I will be happy to see the cvnt arrested.

One thing for sure, if you present enough evidence that the local BIB cannot question, they have to take action.

    Let us see the outcome.

I too had contact with a Thai in a traffic accident where the police were notified. Luckily I had a dashcam but the police didn't know that. Initially they blamed me for the accident until I showed the dashcam footage. They then changed their mind. They still sided with the Thai and said they wanted to fine him but due to him being poor they let it go. Also the Thai only had one leg. The other was false. 4:00 minutes in.

Front AND rear. And don't skimp on the resolution, either.

    They'd probably ignore you.

Try getting a lawyer to tell you the best option.

This is the reason for the proliferation of dash cams in the first place. Must have been the wife that had the sense to get his

Not your fault but you could have been quicker on the brakes instead of the horn

^ My experience here in Thailand is quite different and that is if you are properly prepared most decisions will go in your favour.

I posted this before: Some fat Thai bint rode her bike into the back of my car and scarpered. I didn't have clear enough video to get the plate number.

I was fucking livid when I found out I had to pay extra for her doing the hit and run, and the insurance rep told me my only option was to go to the CM police.

They went to municipality for a look at their cameras and called me in the next day. There was said fat bint with a face like a smacked arse and, once my insurance bloke had done the paperwork, I was free to go and get the car fixed on her insurance. She got fined, too.

    No lawyer required.

Added: In LT's case it's definitely worth pursuing, and I think the insurance company would be keen to get the perpetrators' details too. They are not keen on having to pay out money through fraud.

Reminds me of a similar incident I had oop North.

Three kids on a scooter at night pulling out into my path side on from nowhere while I was doing 60 down a dusl carriage way.

There were nearly several dead people that night.

Because I don't have a bookshop and my one post on the topic was about how I wouldn't touch one as a business with a barge pole.

But you were once involved in business in that area, right.

As you mentioned at the time.

Perhaps that's why you've been dribbling on and on about this for years.

And yes, that makes two male posters on here who regard Bailey's as a treat.

At least they say they are male.

It can get messy and drawn out when you try to hold people to account.

Best wishes with that Oggy , I was involved in courts much of my life and myself had to take 7 years sueing not some ordnary person but 23 lawyers over a defective lease , fortunately I had just enough resource remortgages, lucrative work and credit to win, a poorer person would have had to give up and not receive justice in the High Courts of Appeal.
