    American TV shows from.the 60s

Following on from Hughcows thread about British comedy I was sitting out the back swirling a frosty and watching tunes on YouTube from the 60s one clip by the monkeys ( I'm a believer) had excerpts from the likes of gilligans Island
Mc hales navy, I dream of genie, gunsmoke, Beverley Hill billies. Bonanza, get smart
Just to name a few. A lot of its definately quite different from brit or Oz humour but funny as fuck I reckon. Hogan's heroes never disappointed.

He promised to headbutt me, if he ever saw me. Charming.

I guess that my solution would be that he 'never saw me'.

Agree. Snubs, a lot of really great shows I liked The Wild Wild West. Bonanza was good. Twilight Zone even though I only saw repeats years later. Adam 12 and Voyage to the bottom of the sea.

The late 50's and into the 60's it was all about cowboy shows.

Rawhide, Maverick, Gunsmoke, The Wild Wild West, Bat Masterson, Paladin, The Rifleman, Daniel Boone, Davy Crocket, the comedy western F Troop.

Cartoons were a good life lesson. Tom the dishonest and deceitful cat, was always battered by Jerry.

In the Flinstones, the women, Wilma and Betty always came out on top, and Fred’s boss was always a twat.

When I grew up, I preferred the subtlety of Alias Smith and Jones.

Most of the rest was just good old fashioned slapstick.

Star Trek...trade training for avionics engineers.
Whole family used to like all the detective series of the 60's and 70's.
None of us could be bothered with American humour though.

The firing squad was the men of F troop. They missed as I recall, and O'Rourke is not dead, shot a water tower.

The best sit-com of the 60s and one of the greatest of all time…
