Alone in wherever I am today - Should I go out or just stay in?

I am in Manila and flying back to Singapore tomorrow. I have a nice hotel room for a change and I am finding it hard to get up the motivation to try out a few of the night time venue suggestions of a kind TD member (so I am not talking about libraries or museums here)

I have around 15,000 pesos burning a hole in my pocket, its 7pm but I am alone in a strange city. I also have 3 condoms that I bought hopefully about a week ago (note to self - don't bring them home)

Should I just stay in with Teakdoor and the minibar, or go out and risk having a good time and/or getting mugged?

go to the international centre on EDSA and dont be so gay. You wont get mugged. 15000 peso should be enough there (though not at Burgos Street)

i am at Peninsula Hotel at Makati. Is EDSA far from Makati?

Looking out the window here and the traffic is horrible.

I just called the Peninsula hotel on Tel: 00632 887 2888 from skype and asked to speak to Mr Fatboyslim.

They said they have nobody registered under that name.

i have just noticed the price of the beer in the minibar is 200 pesos - compared to 25 pesos in the supermarket. I think I will be going out.....to the supermarket or EDSA is the big decision now

Makati district is like the patpong of Manila - just ask the doorman at your hotel for directions!

at the very worst catch a bladdy cab, its safe as houses mate.

Its not quite so simple as KingWilly suggests - also Makati (Burgos Street) is well pricey - I dropped 2000USD in Manila over two days -most of it was in Burgos street bars I think....
EDSA a much better option IMHO

Burgos Street is a rip-off, similar to Wan Chai in Hong Kong.

i think i went to EDSA complex about 10 years ago when i was joining a ship. I remember it being something like Orchard Towers but without all butterfly's friends being there
