Pragmatic posted up a song my grandmother would sing when I was a child. I know that song.
She would sing this one, too.
My brother and I would cry because they shoot grandma in the song.![]()
Looks like Dave moved from earliest memories to every memory last night![]()
First Eurovision Contest I can remember...
My Nanna used to buy all the kids a 45 record for Xmas - she'd just buy whatever was on the cgharts.
Way back I got 48 Crash by Suzi Quatro - my brother got Mind Games by John Lennon.
I thought I got the better of the 2 at the time - but I still really like and listen to Mind Games...and even occasionally give Suzi a spin!
When I was real young me and my brother got roped into playing water polo - training was early on a cold sunday morning and the coaches son was roped into picking us up (to make sure they got enough for a team).
Sitting on the letter box, freezing, just after the sun came up - and sturgo came thumping down the road in his clapped out VW bug with Silver Train by the Stones at 110% volume. I didn't exactly get it at the time but it blew me out - he had long hair, levis, smoked and attitooood. It sewed a seed, it gave me an itch.

The first single I bought...
^ You got me Hal.
I was trying to act all sophisticated.
I don't know why, but I always remember this song... one of my older sisters had the record, maybe on a 'Best of'. It's a strange thing, memory... takes me back to the room in the house we played it, nearly 50 years ago.
Call your Fatty Bum Bum and raise you....
It certainly is mate and the older we get, the fewer beers it takes us to start reminiscing about the good old days.
You start off climbing trees, ham sandwiches for tea and long summer nights playing football with your mates or fishing on the canal, and before you know it you're doing some bird up the trumper in a SE Asian high rise tower block after necking 17 little fellas and your body weight in SangSom and Lao Khao.
(Calm yourself Cy. Breathe deep. It's a joke. Well, some of it anyway.)
and I'll see your kitschy "Fatty Bum Bum" and raise you.... Chirpy Chirpy Cheap Cheap
I can go back more than 50 years ago with this... only relevant to Brits of a certain age but the memories the opening tune evokes...
What is it?
I just googled and it said it's a TV series, but that's about it...
It was a telly show for kids, but the opening music... must be one of my earliest musical memories.
You youngsters probably had better stuff to watch?
Surely this is the ultimate classic, Mendy?
And this with the fancy up to date 80s American commentary and music

Actually....
This is the ultimate, yeah?
Apart from

^^ All way after my time mate... I was practically grown up by the time Grange hill came out.
But that opening theme... certainly brings back some memories.
