Poll: Manchester - the worst in Britain?

    ...airport, that is.

This video looks pretty horrific, not sure I've ever had such an unpleasant airport experience; and, no doubt like most of you'all, I've been through some shiteholes in my time...

If you fly out of Manchester and you're in Birmingham, you will most likely get there via Stoke.

By then the only thing that matters is getting on a plane and getting the **** out of there.

I flew from Heathrow to Manchester earlier this year and then from Manchester to Bangkok. I can't say that I noticed any major issues...

Interesting comments thusfar. Obviously, I've never been (or plan to go to) Manchester, so have zero knowledge on this issue.

It is truly awful when you arrive although I've noticed it being a bit better of late.

The main problem is getting you off the plane and unloading the baggage as it can take an age.

It's almost like they weren't expecting you!

Fortunately, I'm flying out this week rather than flying in (delays from yesterday permitting).

The facilities in T2 are ok, but they tend to be very busy.

I've been a couple of times, May 22 was the last time. Main problem I have is the lack of signs for hire car return, there aren't any until you almost reach it. Queues for baggage search were horrendous but it was just after Covid rules lifted and they didn't have the staff. I think this was a UK problem at the time. It all looks and feels so old fashioned in departures and arrivals. However, I wouldn't say it was any worse than Birmingham.

If Manchester Airport is worse than Bristol Airport, then it's pretty bad.

Do they charge £2 for luggage trolleys?

Do they charge £1 to charge your phone on a charging machine?

    ^ No, it's £2 or 2 Euros.

A wise man keeps a 2 Euro coin in his pocket for these occasions, however the way things are going post-Brexit, maybe the £2 coin option will soon be better?

Used to queue to put car on plane from Lydd

Gatwick overcrowded over priced expensive parking

Rhoose where the confiscated Marmite no receipt sold in their departure lounge

Thiefrow had a suitcase taken in June despite so called feckin security, took 72 hrs to get my wardrobe back

    Stansted horrid

    Newquay /Southampton Wick no thanks

Only ones I like St Mary's Isles of Scilly , Penzance Heliport, Plymouth used to use it weekly, Culdrose for RNAS only Papa Westray and Barra where you land on the beach, not for feint hearted.

If I could afford to heat the mrs probably best place in UK after Rathlin

I used to like flying Brymon Airways on their Dash 7's to Heathrow back in the 80's. That was in the days of Dan Dare and flying to Inverness on a 1-11.

Actually, I preferred the sea route to St Mary's, definitely not for the faint hearted.

Friend just lost his suitcase on Saturday on a flight from Heathrow, still hasn't got it and it had his son's new Tennis racket inside.

I used to laugh at the Thai regional airports, they haven't improved much but far better than UK nowadays.

If your sources are dribble plenty shorter, check Barra when tide out or Papa Westray you are talking out of your rectum sir a habit oft acquired mingling with standees , Mancunians and the hoi polloi, I excuse you if the drinks were too many and too various.

PS Weston Zoyland, which is 244m

Out Skerries in Shetland is 380 m. No undershoot area available or possible.

Daytime it's used for normal commercial services & is available 24hr for air ambulance evacuations.

I used to live 50m from the end of the widest at Cribb's Causeway Filton where the Brabizon and later Concorde built by my relatives

In Manchester Airports defence they do have Wetherspoons airside

But dropping off and picking up is a total money grab!
I suppose they've got go make their money somehow

The people of course are salt of the earth and very friendly.

Top tip avoid the toilets landside in T1 and T3, they're truly horrendous.

Dare I ask for insiders "Solution" do you bag your "RINGWEIGH" and take as carrion or cross your legs.?

Last time I was there security outbound took 45m which is better than Gatwick on a bust morning in my limited experience
