Pattaya is what it is. I once got on a baht bus and got speaking to a Brit husband and wife. They told me they were there with 4 other couples from UK and they came to Pattaya every year. They just like the vibe. There is probably somthing for everyone from quiet areas in Na Jomtiem and Pratumnak to soi Buakaow walking street and many others. You can pay a lot or go on a budget depending on your tastes.
Its not for everyone but no place really is besides, who would pass up the chance to meet Thailand's resident bard Sausages, the sage of Pattaya, espousing the virtues of Thai society and culture, Dropping pearls of wisdoms as he cherishes his wonderful hosts with the approriate gratitude of a visitor and resident.

Friday 4 August 2023. A semi-naked German national climbed over an eighth-floor balcony at a Pattaya condominium and threatened to jump on Thursday morning. The 61-year-old man, identified as Heinz Edgar Eugen, stood on the outer ledge of the top-floor apartment wearing only his underpants. He also hurled objects down from the condo, which is located in Chonburi’s Bang Lamung district.
