I'm strictly on only 2 days a week. Actually down to 1 now.

I'm 'busy' from Wednesday evening to Tuesday afternoon. Which is quite unfortunate. Really. But, you know what us workaholics are like. All business business business, go, go, go.

    Dulwich Woods

The old Cox's walk footbridge has just been refurbished. A railway used to run right under this footbridge as David probably would have seen the remnants of. Now all that is left of this track is the tunnel and the occasional spike.

There was talk of bringing it down but a quick whip around and the funds were made for the refurb. See that screw top left, that's mine.

Lovely fotos , started by career at HSBC there so long ago there were 10 bob notes and it was normal to hear national treasures like Ronnies/Cooper describe the more colourful as 'bent as 9 bob note'.

Not far away is fabulous Dulwich Art Gallery, School and eclectic Horniman's museum , no not sex the various passions of tea profits well worth a peek then lunch at the Greyhound pub an old regular fave when managers could indulge oin liquid lunches! More acid, than unmeploted , No AIDS and the pill just common amongst the suburban ladies.

For visitors short walk from Forest Hill or East Dulwich half an hour from up west by train, no tubes.

Its a bit of a sanctuary this area, glad I landed here, definitely kept me sane. The Greyhound is still going strong but the food is shite, I think its a Youngs pub. If you ever come back try Rocca Di Papa Italian just next door. Not the best of Italians but its a nice setting and they always have a good house red.

Making a start on the Christmas Day leftovers with the help of a lovely lady from Kanagawa Prefecture south west of Tokyo

    Where did you go today?-20241227_173623-jpg

She brought Vegan chocolate which I did not know even existed

And fruit salad. I think her picnic contribution was more bounteous than mine

She is a nature sprite and likes the feel of grass under her feet

    Where did you go today?-20241227_183149c-jpg

The vegan chocolate had salted caramel crumbles in it which went a long way to redeeming it from a low score

She reckoned I looked like Jean Paul Sartre with her glasses on (I thought this was a great complement until I looked up a photo of Jean Paul Sartre on Google later on)

She prudently said she was going home at the end of the feast but was busting for a pee. So I cunningly put her under the false impression that there were no public toilets in the vicinity and that she should come back to mine to try my Santa toilet

    Where did you go today?-20241105_020302-jpg

She declared it very festive but requested that I put some music on so I would not hear her delicate lady's tinkle. I put on the beautiful South but I was still able to hear her

Quicker than a flash while she was on the pan I had the BBQ lit so she was hypnotised my the wafting smoke and agreed to stay while I serenaded her.

We had played Perfect Day at the lake on her phone when she made the comment and I told her about the Lou Reed song. I then surprised myself by being able to play a stumbling version of it without looking up the chords.

    Where did you go today?-20241227_210103-jpg

The stars came out and she was goggle-smacked to crack eyes on the moons of Jupiter for the first time in her life

    Where did you go today?-20241227_212409c-jpg

But no sight of Uranus and by the end of the night I was left with my Christmas snag in my hand as she bid me a fond farewell
