I have a Ukrainian student - a 12 year old boy who studies Science with me 'online'. He's currently in Czech Republic after fleeing from The Ukraine some months ago.

It was his birthday and his grandparents gave him something that he asked for >> 23 grams of Gallium!

Now Gallium is an interesting, non-toxic element that when placed in contact with aluminium, will destroy the protective oxide layer on the aluminium and thereafter 'destroy' the aluminium itself, by making it very brittle. This is why you can't take Gallium on airplanes! My student got hold of an old aluminium radiator, and proceeded to 'destroy' it with his birthday present.

How you ever been given a weird birthday present?
