We took in an abandoned little chicken baby last night, and it's been making a lot of noise, until about an hour ago.

On checking, I realised it had somehow gotten out of its basket, and was expecting to find the corpse chewed up by our bitch somewhere.
Not so, it found a new mother:

Update: there'a second chick now, which was bleeding from its head, looks like the mother has abandoned both. I'll have the mother for dinner, if I can identify her, it's on of ours and we have too many chickens at the moment.

Thing is, they grow attached to you if you keep them in the house.
Might have a bunch of dogs and chickens follow me around to the corner store soon.
