Update: I already paid for two Moderna doses with a nearby hospital here in Bangkok.
Apparently, the doses will get administered Oct-Dec.
It's a bit of a wait — though I am pretty safe working from home.

This thread about Moderna was started in early June.
Now in mid-August, the good news is that I'll be getting a Pfizer dose on Monday and have already reserved and paid for 2 Moderna doses arriving in Thailand later this year at a nearby hospital here in Bangkok.
Lining up the Pfizer and Moderna appointments took time and effort knowing which hospitals were best to apply to and when (day/time) though the efforts paid off.
Apparently, it's wise to get a third dose (a booster shot) to raise antibody levels even higher to fight the new variants.
The latest research: It looks like Moderna is superior to Pfizer when it comes to the delta variant.
In a study of more than 50,000 patients in the Mayo Clinic Health System, researchers found the effectiveness of Moderna's vaccine against infection had dropped to 76% in July - when the Delta variant was predominant - from 86% in early 2021. Over the same period, the effectiveness of the Pfizer/BioNTech vaccine had fallen to 42% from 76%, researchers said.

The mRNA vaccine from Pfizer (PFE.N) and BioNTech (22UAy.DE) may be less effective than Moderna's against the Delta variant of the coronavirus, according to two reports posted on medRxiv on Sunday ahead of peer review. In a study of more than 50,000 patients in the Mayo Clinic Health System, researchers found the effectiveness of Moderna's vaccine against infection had dropped to 76% in July - when the Delta variant was predominant - from 86% in early 2021. While both vaccines remain effective at preventing COVID hospitalization, a Moderna booster shot may be necessary soon for anyone who got the Pfizer or Moderna vaccines earlier this year, said Dr. Venky Soundararajan of Massachusetts data analytics company nference, who led the Mayo study.

After I finish getting my 2 Pfizer doses at Samativej hospital — I already have Moderna booked at Sukhumvit Hospital and will use one of those doses as a booster.
If anyone in Thailand wants to get Moderna and you've been a patient at Sukhumvit hospital before, they are opening a second round of reservations tomorrow at 8 AM.
Will go fast, I imagine.
Details for booking Moderna Alternetive Covid-19 Vaccine at Sukumvit Hospital Extra Round
I received my second Pfizer jab yesterday at Samitivej yesterday — and have to give kudos to the hospital, the Thai government, and America for the donated vaccines.
That said, glad I booked the Moderna shots at Sukhumvit hospital a few months back, which should be available in Oct-Dec.
It appears Moderna is superior when it comes to the Indian variant of the Wuhan virus.
Reasons why include the actual dose — .5ml for Moderna compared to .3ml for Pfizer, a slightly longer period of time between doses and other reasons not yet understood.
Ideally, I'll get the Moderna dose as a booster in November (2 months after my last Pfizer shot).

Yet they are not the ones clogging up the intensive care units down south, you dumb twat.
Alabama man dies of cardiac event after 43 hospitals with full ICUs turned him away
Alabama man dies from cardiac event after 43 hospitals turn him awayThe family of a man who died of heart issues in Mississippi is asking people to get vaccinated for COVID-19 after 43 hospitals across three states were unable to accept him because of full cardiac ICUs.
Ray Martin DeMonia died last week in Meridian, Mississippi. He was three days shy of his 74th birthday and a well-known native in Cullman, Alabama, his family said.
DeMonia suffered from a cardiac event, and emergency staff at Cullman Regional Medical Center had to bring him to the nearest available bed, which was nearly 200 miles away at a Mississippi hospital.
In his obituary, DeMonia’s family urged people to get vaccinated against COVID-19.
“In honor of Ray, please get vaccinated if you have not, in an effort to free up resources for non-COVID related emergencies,” the obituary read. “He would not want any other family to go through what his did.”
“Ray DeMonia was like no other,” his obituary read.
DeMonia spent 40 years in the antiques business in Alabama.
But ya blame African Americans you pathetic racist fuctard.
Those hospitals should have wheeled some dumbfuck antivaxx scumbag out into the street and let them die.
P.S. Blacks and younger people are not as likely to be Republicans.
;-)
Same pathetic dimwitted fucktard as you have always been. Fuck off FaRT you pathetic loser
I hear it's the under 2 year-olds who are the worst.
Republicans dying at 5X the rate of Democrats.
Take a look at the relevant threads on the forum.
You may be banned from posting on them though, I guess.
A total of 17 of the 18 states that voted for Trump in the 2020 election have the lowest vaccination rates. The exception was Georgia which went for Biden by a very small margin.
So Cyrille: I just posted about my experience getting vaccinated in Thailand and added some info about Moderna.
Bsnub turns it into a juvenile republican bashing exchange, and you hop on board?
Go on then, let's see your source for "Republicans dying at 5X the rate of Democrats".
I really doubt it exists, especially since so many died in liberal NY where Cuomo sent covid patients back to nursing homes — unlike Florida.
You're obviously cherry picking desperately.
Next time you're posting about something and feel it's gone off track, have you ever thought about just ignoring the diversion rather than doubling down on your bs?
As I mentioned, your facile fabrications have already been torched elsewhere on this forum.
On more reputable threads than you will ever be able to start.
I backed up my point with a source: Vox.
Who is not vaccinated in the US? - Vox
“There have really been persistent gaps between white people compared to Black and Hispanic people, with Black and Hispanic rates lagging behind pretty consistently across states,” said Samantha Artiga, vice president and director of racial equity and health policy at the Kaiser Family Foundation.
At the start of July, the vaccination rate was about 15 percent lower for Black people than for white people in the US...
While, cyrille: you seem to be trying to fillibuster, as it were.
There are a thousand sites saying the same thing. If you don't like that one then just google. Pretty sure you've quoted from it yourself in the past, though. All but one of the 39 congressional districts where at least 60 percent of residents have received a coronavirus shot are represented by Democrats, according to a Harvard University analysis that presents one of the most detailed looks yet at the partisan split behind the nation’s diverging vaccination drive. By contrast, Republicans represent all but two of the 30 districts where fewer than one-third of residents have received a shot.
The partisan divide in vaccinations is starker than you realize - POLITICO
It's just all over the internet, basically.
Vaccine hesitancy is by far stronger amongst Republican voters. Those who are adamant that they won't take vaccines are overwhelmingly Republican voters.
Really, it's so undeniable that if you had a shred of credibility left on this forum then you wouldn't be saying otherwise.
https://www.washingtonpost.com/polit...b00_story.htmlThe differences between Republicans and Democrats on the issue of vaccinations are stark, just as they were about reopening the economy during the worst of the pandemic. The survey finds that 86 percent of Democrats have received at least one shot of a vaccine, compared with 45 percent of Republicans. Another 7 percent of Democrats say they are likely to do so, compared with 4 percent of Republicans.
But while 6 percent of Democrats say they arent likely to get vaccinated, 47 percent of Republicans fall into that camp, with 38 percent of Republicans overall saying they will definitely not get shots against the virus.
A favourite tactic of yours - fixating on one statistic and expecting others to go running.
Is it time for a crap music video now by any chance?
that's ok, cyrille.
"A" for effort.
And it's other people dodging the issues you want to discuss?
How utterly pathetic you are.
Maybe in the sandpit, when a student writes a 5 paragraph essay and then spends their time defending something that was not their thesis statement, you don't notice.
I'd actually give a low score.
As I would you in defending yours:
"A" for effort, though.
as mentioned.
