The Red Arrows will take to the skies to perform a UK-wide flypast for the first time in eight years to mark the 75th anniversary of VJ Day on Saturday.
Flying the distinctively scarlet Hawk fast-jets, the royal air force aerobatic team will soar over Edinburgh, Belfast, Cardiff and London in an aerial tribute to commemorate the day Japan surrendered to the Allied Forces on 15 August 1945, signalling the end of the Second World War.
The Red Arrows will pass over Edinburgh at 11.30am, Belfast at 2pm, Cardiff at 2.45pm and London at 5.30pm.

Just as well our leaders have apologised profusely for ending the war and saving tens of thousands of lives, otherwise we wouldn't hear the end of it!
Had the US not dropped the bombs there would have been about 1.2 million additional Allied deaths and maybe several millions of Japanese deaths. And Japan may have ended up split like North/South Korea and East/West Germany. Stalin wanted his Manchurian revenge and to eliminate an Eastern threat. Had not the bombs abruptly ended the War with Japan, at the cost of about 300,000 Japanese from the two bombs. These are the hard choices leaders/generals have to make in real time, not 75 years later in different time and place. Additionally, without the millions of families suffering from the ravages of War and only memories of loved ones the casualties of a world gone mad.
They had planes, pilots and fuel ready to go.
They had artillery.
They had grannies with sharp sticks.
They weren’t going to make it easy.
As written here already before, the only reason for Truman was to show off to the world - especially to Stalin who started his invasion to Japan - exactly 3 months after the victory in Berlin - as per agreed plan in July in Potsdam.
That's Allied deaths as you quoted.
The Japanese were on their knees in Iwo Jima, Okinawa etc and refused to surrender. Essentially dying to the last person including civilians. Please site your sources "the Japanese were already on their knees, trying to find somebody to surrender to"
The Russians already knew about and had the plans to build the A-Bomb prior to Roosevelt informing Stalin. Resulting in Russia's first Test of a nuclear bomb in 1948.
The American public had no knowledge of the bomb, had Truman not used it to save American lives and accrued the massive loss of life invading Japan. When the nuclear bomb option became public he would have been forced out of office immediately by the families of the victims that had suffered from the atrocities of the Japanese. There was no vice president so the Dems would have to hand the presidency over to the Republicans.
What would have happened in WWII if the U.S. did not drop the atomic bombs on Japan?:
