    Getting into spandex

Been looking into getting a push bike.

Like the look of the Trek Domane AL3

Any recommendations for a road/hybrid for around 1100 quid?

I got this but it might be a bit out of your league.

    https://voltbikes.co.uk/e-bikes/folding/metro?gclid=Cj0KCQiAmpyRBhC-ARIsABs2EAqWXMb2KnCDaJz9eYieAL5qjShQ-zxhXlzLDor7_DBFiSjA9yhJYBsaAi2dEALw_wcB

also check if your work is part of the cycle to work scheme, you can sign up and the cost is taken from your gross wages and so you effectively get c40% off paid monthly over a year.

Good god, that looks like something that an octogenarian would be riding around on at the senior care center. You ancient coffin dodger.

Besides, the lard ass is trying to exercise and that is hardly the bike to do it.

Possibly whilst fantasising about a potential horror tackle on the toughest midfielder of 20 years ago.

    NPT... born for combat.

It just never kind of worked out.

    Timing.

I really enjoy my Trek bike even though a poster on here said "Its a department store bike". It started out as a mountain bike but I swap out cassettes if I am going to do a longer street ride as i have smaller road tires.

Cheers ya out a shape tub O lard

Additionally Spandex bike gear is for Homo's. I see all these guys wearing matching spandex with ads like they are training for the Tour de France. Its dumb. Toss on some shorts, a good wicking shirt, a baseball cap and go. No need for all the poofter stuff.

    I can’t wear spandex

I can’t remember the type of bike I ride in Thailand, every morning. But in the states, I ride a Giant. Nice bike.

It is. And you can have up 2,500 quid but bollocks to that.

I nearly got a Brompton but they're dearer than your electric fold ups and frig it I'll buy a bike rack if it comes to driving to the park then using it

Ive gone out and got the one I said in the op now. Was painless, came away with 180 quids worth of colour coded accessories and no spandex or helmet yet. Will wait for Slapper's advice

    This gets delivered next week

With these bike shorts you're so keen on getting (we all know the bike itself is not the objective here) are you planning on dressing to the left or right?

    What a minute...

They will give you that much for a bike, and you do not want to spend it? Are you an idiot?

I think wearing Spandex, you don't have much choice as to left or right - it's 'squashed flat wherever it happens to lie...'

They don't pay for all of it...You get a 40% saving through tax breaks I think.
That bikes enough though, a starter road bike really. The weather's starting to come good now I think after a long cold winter.

    ^lol

    ^^^^^^^^Looks nice Dill

I was keen on upgrading to a ripper road bike back in 2015 until KGBGF left me with her spanky $4000 roadie while she was travelling, and I put the seat up and took it for a spin.

These ultra light carbon racing frames with the razor thin carbon wheels are rigid as fook. It was like having a mini-jack-hammer pounding away on my 'taint. My poor prostate gland was black and blue and numb when I got home.

I was glad to get back to my more relaxed touring style frame with thicker road tyres.

I bet you look like fucking Mary Poppins mincing down the road on that with your bottle of red in one hand and a steak bake in the other.

The local northern chavs must love seeing you wheel past.

Umm yeah..OK me laughing at your claim (apropos of nothing whatsoever) that you'd have beaten up Roy Keane no worries a few years ago means... I claim to be 'hard'.
