...what's the story with the Buddha on the stand?...
...^request the back story of some of the posted pieces...why did you choose them for display?...
Have collected antiques for years. This particular one on display for two reasons.
Our home does not have a Buddha room so this is used by missus to do her Buddha stuff.
My reason, it is a well crafted piece and pleasant to look at.
...ok: how about the reclining Buddha...ceramic?
here you go Norts
Christ that reminds me of a B&B i stayed at just outside Farnborough about 15 years ago. The place was bright pink outside with black wagon wheels appended to the front but it was 3D picture of James Dean which was electronic so his cigarette glowed on and off as he took a drag that made the place memorable - winking at you as you sat having breakfast.
^I had to google the word, but that's what it is alright. I just got rid of boxes and boxes of vintage Japanese made tin toys, memorabilia and collectables. From old Beatles tour posters to advertising memorabilia to astro boy ceramic dolls from the 50s to tin robots from the 60s, still in the box. I carted it around for years and years and ended up selling it all in one hit for a fraction of the price I bought it for, just so I could get rid of the hassle of moving it around with me wherever I go. I suppose it does not help that I have spent the past couple of decades moving around quite a lot, but never again. Never again will I collect anything that for the most part will sit in boxes as the value supposedly goes up - well, besides vinyl records anyway... but at least I can play them and get joy from them over and over again.kitsch
^ Yes. Quite a lot of Jamaican artists from the 60s & 70s. Lots of rock'n'roll and psychedelic rock too. Some house music and dance music from the 90s. Punk and rock from 70s and 80s. Blues, jazz, anything really.
^ a few of the vintage toys I used to collect. It was fun finding the stuff and it is highly collectable, but perhaps a mid life crisis was part of the reason I went so overboard with it
