Backspit arguing with people who actually remember the '70s.
Nev is right. And your mantle and trim is dated as well.
So long as it keeps you warm, I guess.
It ain't easy in a world without trousers.
There's no way that's his house or his fireplace though. :D
This came over my feeds a while ago.
It really reminded me with pretty much any post by backspit....

Backspin will tell you his fireplace has a remote control.
He won’t tell you he isn’t allowed to play with it! ;)
Listen to these clueless fucking doughheads
The all white look is the anti 70's, the anti tacky. Call it boring, call it bland but the last thing it is is fucking 70's. As if I don't know what the aesthetic of the 70's is. Quite evidently it is YOU and the gaggle of fuckwits in this thread that don't know what the aesthetic of the 70's is.
Lets look at the other offerings with tacky and 70's in mind :chitown:

Call out my fireplace. That's not a problem. Call it boring, whitewashed or bland. Just please make an iota of fucking sense. Is that too much ? I pick the most contra 70's design of them all, and some retards call it nineteen seventies ! It just blows my fucking mind.
And if you hadn't noticed that the 1970's asthetic is coming back in, you must be living under a rock. Or in the case of NPT , Nev and Pickel, you didn't know what the 70's was in the first place. Even with the benifit of living in them.

Notice something .... The one on the top is vintage 1970's and it is made over to the clean modern contra 70's look. Which is exactly what mine is.

I figured out what you're problem is. You see 70's fireplaces on the internet without realizing that the pics you seeing are ppl who have refaced and resurfaced their 70's fireplace you know........ to look like mine.

The aesthetic and color of my fireplace is the opposite of the 70's. That's just a simple fact. That you should be able to decern even if you are colorblind !
I haven't looked up 70s fires on the internet, skiddy. I don't need to. I was alive in the 1970s and I saw them with my own eyes. As MalmoMike said: "backlit fake coal fires". There is no coal. It's just a lamp with some plastic that is shaped and coloured to look like coal.
Let me make it simple for you.

Anyway skiddy, put up the make and model of your fire so we can check if it's a genuine retro or not.

OK. I've found the make and model.

Just a moment...
 I thought it was fairly self explanatory that I didn't install a wood burning fireplace in my bedroom. No only is it expensive and time consuming, it is also illegal. So if it wasn't a wood burning fireplace, it was probably either a gas or electric one which both involve imitation wood and flame. Todays modern fireplaces are controlled digitally and use LED and laser lights to make a stylistic and 3D fireplace without the hassle of open flame. Comparing one from the 1970's to 2023 is like comparing a computer from the 70's to one in 2023. Mine has flame speed control
And the main reason people install gas or electric fireplaces is for supplemental heat. Which is the same reason I did. What would you do if you needed supplemental heat in a room ? Put one of these in the corner ?

Fireplaces today are a huge industry and they aren't some fucking ode to the 70's . :smileylaughing:

A work colleague just came back from a week in Morocco and brought me back 1/2Kg of Harissa and 5g of saffron. How times have changed, in my youth it would have been 3ozs of rocky brown :)
All executive reports completed last Friday and uploaded into sharepoint. Enjoying time off until Jan 8th. :)
Happy Holidays.
Well...... Happy Friday....
Gotta love working for a tech company. Was notified today by HR on a morning management call that we all get an extra bonus due to company performance and a host of new contracts on new products :) .
Good time with the Thai baht at a very favorable conversion.
Yep, I was given a quick call yesterday to join a special HR meeting today. No issues. 30 minutes out of my day. Now back to holiday time. How is that fireplace working for you? You pull out those dress up shoes so you feel like you are going places?
I gotta ask Backtard. So you do not live here in Thailand or SEAsia for that matter. You are a 2 week warrior once in a 10 year span to stay in Pattaya. Yet you are a young guy who spends countless hours on Thailand based sites making a fool of yourself which you have absolutely no attachment too. Is your social life that bad?
Holidays have started! Off into town to celebrate no 5am wake ups for a while.
