Is he fook going on my insurance!
It's took me twenty years to get mine gown to £200 a year fully comprehensive. :)
You've heard the saying "All that glitters is not gold".
This particular car was a good example of Del Boy Vs Arthur Daley Motors.
Thank fvck I took a few pics to prove my point to my son who had fallen for it and had been mythering me all week to look at it.
To cut a long story short, I took it for an unnecessary test drive as I knew after two minutes it's was a dog.
I gave it a good ragging with my foot on the brake and returned it to the car lot in a haze of smoke.
Ruddy second hand car dealers thinking they can pull the wool over my eyes, I did the humane thing and sent it to the scrap yard in the sky and saved some other less aware punter the pain.

I did enjoy myself and the look on Arthur Del Boy Daleys face was priceless when I put the key back in his sweaty palm:)
^ with sills that bad why did you even drive it?
The 40+C heat in bone dry Isan became too much. So I decamped to Taiwan this morning. Grey skies, green mountains, rain: Fantastic. And everybody formed an orderly queue to get on the train.

I'd post a photo if only I could master that from my phone.
^ you turned left alighting the train? :)
Good man Shutree.
China is lovely.
How long will you be staying?
We want a photo thread! We want a photo thread!

Top man Shutree :) Have fun
^^ I’ve Japanese friends who would go to Taiwan for a few days just to eat. They said the food is fantastic.
Yoho! Finally I start my long journey back to Phangan Island from my 'medical sabbatical' in Blackpool! My plane to Bangkok leaves at 8.30am on Thursday morning, but to avoid any delays/missed flight AND expensive airport hotel I'll travel to Manchester Airport this evening and sleep overnight at the airport.
I'll arrive in Bangkok on Friday morning, then another short flight to Samui, then onto the speedboat to Phangan and finally a taxi ride to my little home in the woods, (which is still standing after almost 3 months without me). I'm more concerned about my rented car parked under my house. I have a battery charger in case the battery is flat and I hope the petrol in the tank hasn't turned to treacle!
The nearby airport hotels are relatively expensive and the taxi fee is a staggering 35 quid! I've checked on the possibility of sleeping at the airport and there is no problem to kip down in a seat inside terminal 2. If I'm unable to sleep, then I can sleep on the plane.
I bought an old copy of 'Lost World of the Kalahari' for some reading material....
Edit: As an example of silly prices, today I bought 4 mince pies for 1.25 pounds (price is ok) and then the shop tried to charge me 25p to put them in a small paper bag!!
You can get cheap hotels around Manchester Piccadilly around 30 odd quid a night on booking.com
So the hotels of Manchester aren't full of Afghan refugees, it seems.
And it's no problem to kip a few hours at the airport.
Maybe it's best to just assume that the opposite of what Chitty posts is true. :D
This may help you Simon.
Sleeping in Manchester Airport – Sleeping in Airports
Thanks - I had already checked this website :)
@Malmomike77, I'm sure there are 30 quid hotels around Manchester Piccadilly, but that is not Manchester Airport. I would have to take an early morning taxi from Piccadilly to the airport (before the trains start service), and no doubt that taxi cost would be more than the 35 quid from an airport hotel to the airport! A few hours in terminal 2 suits me fine!
^ OK, understood :)
The Holiday Inn and Radisson have been fully occupied since the fall of Kabul 2 years ago with Afghanis loyal to the UK.
The families there are waiting for rehousing around the country.
No racist intent Cryall, just a fact.
Simon check out Level 13 on T1 for the sunset this evening.
Oh and Greggs give free food away between 8 and 9:)
If you want clean toilets and a shower then the new T2 is the place.
The Muslim prayer room is a nice quiet place to catch some shut eye because there are no passengers or flights between midnight and 6am.
^ You forgot the cheap cocktails at Etihad Duty Free:)
Why don't you knock it off with them negative waves? Why don't you dig how beautiful it is out here? Why don't you say something righteous and hopeful for a change?
Why don't you drink wine and eat cheese, and catch some rays, you know.
Oh I forgot you're in smog city:kma:
Flights were fully booked out of Udon today so I get an extra paid day at the resort until I fly out tomorrow. Might go for a swim.
I've booked a mini adventure for next month, flying home to Scotland for 8 nights to visit my aging grandparents, which I still have 3/4. Mostly a family visiting trip with some bank and court stuff to deal with and a weekend in the middle to get fucked up with whoever all turns up.
Then it's off to Vienna for a long weekend event then Budapest, Bucharest and Prague before returning to Thailand.
Back to work in June.

Happy to be here/home.
Went back to NZ for six weeks to finalise my previous life there, a few last-minute/day stresses but now that's all behind me.
Last few years I've been commuting for work 3-6mth contracts. No more.
What joy culling my contacts list from 171 to 19 (I'm sure I can do better) and shutting down my self-employment/contracting online presence, and leaving a message on my work sim 'I'm no longer available for contracting; if this isn't work related, please email me' - without providing my new email address.
The kid's phone/internet bill arrived yesterday and was quite impressive, to say the least.
Impressive enough for herself and Edith to have to toddle off to the service provider to see what happened.
Apparently there were some 'in-app purchases' made over the last few months.
Kid denied everything.
Then the assistant said she can check the phone to see the details.

Turns out she's been averaging 500-1000 baht a day buying Fluffy Friends Houses, Robux, and whatever the fudge Zems are. :D

Good to see ya back, Prags.
Don't worry, Ant flounced to Australia and only pops in from time to time to abuse and insult posters in the Dog House. :)
Beautiful girls you have there. Must be proud.

Character Creator for 179 baht!
Mmmmmmm, wonder where she would get that idea from? Does she know anyone close to her who likes to create fictional charactors? Maybe a family member that enjoys to multinic on forums or something along those lines?
Any chance she can clear my leccy bill with a few of them Zems before you deactivate the card? :)
