that clip was lacking in humor - I could not see what the laughter was for
He was making fun of her, her fans and all the vacant shit she stands for.
She certainly cums across as being pretty thick...
hey, hey, hey!
watch yourself.....the man's got an IQ of 180.
^
Although he's still an ignorant liberal...
really how hard would that have been,, i mean taking the piss out of paris hilton..just cheap really ..now had paris hilton took the piss out of letterman that would have been funny!
I think you have to be American/Canuck to appreciate Letterman or Leno to the max. They are institutions here. With Dave, you know he's gonna take the p*s, and tiddlyplunks like Paris are perfect fodder for him. Great laugh, CT, thanks.
^ Was that an American taking the piss? A target so easy as Paris and he stutters all the way through it er, um, aw, until he got out a few poor one liners that's he's scripted and laughs himself too so everybody else can follow like sheep. Where was the sharp wit? The dry one liners, the timing with the comedy? The man got a laugh for calling jail the 'slammer' for gods sake! A poor man's institution.
Off the top of my head I can tell you now Ali G would have made it funnier. Johnny Ross would have had a field day.![]()
Admittedly I have enjoyed a few Lettermen interviews and he has come out with some good stuff before, but this was a poor interview.
Letterman is very smart. He plays dumb to the crowd and lets people like O'Reilly look like arrogant fags. At the same time with someone like Paris, he has to walk the line of keeping his fans entertained as a smartass, but also recognizing that many of them also love the wacko guests like Paris.
Yeah, he's a liberal, but he's more like Jon Stewart. They're smart enough to play both sides on occasion, and you'd never see either of them posing like idiots with Chavez or anything like that.

I will admit that Leno is probably smarter and better rounded. Letterman never got over being passed up for that. Letterman is a little tedious as he has the same routine for 25 years. Living abroad for so many years, I've only just started watching him again on TVU and his shtick is still the same. Paul Shaffer is a waste. I still miss Carson. Grew up with him and nobody can compare.
As I do get CBS now, I have also watched Craig Ferguson, also funny, but again, stuck in the same Shtick.
* And yeah, Ali-G is a very funny ass. Would love to see him revive that act and bring it across the pond. I loved the segment with the Beckhams.
I'll never forget Mrs Merton's classic opening question to Debbie McGee:
"So, what first attracted you to the millionaire Paul Daniels?"
(For you Americans, Paul Daniels is a short, balding and aging magician on British TV who wouldn't win any beauty contests)
The sleep of reason brings forth monsters.
Letterman is good, can be too 'in your face' though with his relentless probing and pricking.
^Yep, he's about as ugly as a bag full of arseholes.
Paul Schaffer is a fekin pr*ck IMO and regret he is canuckie. Agree, he grates on me, too. I like Leno, but I think he has antibacterial handywipes in his pant pockets -- shakes all the hands in the crowd (Letterman never touches any of them) and then shoves his paws in his pockets.
Still, both entertain.
