    Extending the house

So, with a sprog on the way and a very hairy dog ruining all my furniture, the wife decided we should make use of the shithole of the back garden.

"I'm the man, bitch.. I'll deal with it" I croaked in my husky, manly voice.

As I regained consciousness I overheard Wifeyİ organizing everything on the phone. I didn't challenge this as I didn't want to upset the poor delicate flower, and not because I'm scared of her, no matter what all my 'friends' say.

I took it upon myself to create a detailed plan on my computer so that these imbeciles will know what to do.

    The outside.

My plan. cement floor, wood wall, with a space for me washing machine and my laundry. that leaves enough room for the dog and some pretty flowers.

"oi, you twat. you forgot the roof. your dogs gonna get all wet" i can hear you mumble in that horrible northern dialect that you working class people are so fond of.

If i'd put the roof in that plan you wouldnt be able to see inside silly! so i did a separate one for that!

It should def be made of a typical roofy substance and I think it should go on the top. something around this colour.

I sent the Wifeİ out to buy some metally stuff the other day and K.Banok will arrive on Monday to start destroying my house.

Brilliantly, my Mother-in-Law has decided to look over things while we are working. Very unfortunate that I have a long meeting lasting until around the time she leaves as I would have loved to spend some quality time with her.

Good job - always pleasing to see a real pro at work.

Have you booked home and garden magazine for the photo shoot of the finished masterpiece?

Best of luck mate, be surprised how useful even 20 odd sqM extra can be

My dad could do the sam but he's resigned to having it full of rusty tools and an old outside toilet

we are doing the same, looks just as horrible as well. Problem is finding a builder, first one quoting seemed clueless another said he could do it but not the (simple) electrics and the third one no problem but could not do the guttering. The last one just done some work next door, bloody awful so he's off the list.
You will need 'iron' frame, roof tiles (probably asbestos!) guttering, and shera wood to block the neighbours out. Tile the floor, it's concrete already and they are good at that, about 130 baht a sq meter. Good luck, you'll be needing it. Whatever you show them they will just ignore you and do it their own (quick and cheap) way. My advice is don't let any do it unless you have seen their other cock ups first.

Today seems to have started OK. He has put the metal bits up that hold it all together, the proper word escapes me right now. and he's currently putting on the roof. the roof seems a bit industrial and not sure on how loud it'll be when it rains but i hope with the lights we bought it'll look OK.

I'm kinda hoping they piss off for the day so i can relax..

That bit has very deep religious connotations. Best not to ask about it.

50k sounds about right IF it's a good job and includes tiling and lighting and plumbing

    Our neighbours look like this

    and this

This one has the poles covered up with shera that looks like wood first one has adjustable poles in case of ground movement.

Would you think of doing a nice job and then shift the kitchen out there?

That way it would free up the space you have inside, and also give you a nice inbuilt private kitchen.

Note, not some crap Thai style outside kitchen that has loose corrogated iron as a roof.

yeah, we're going for a mid 70s style of vibe that will burden our children with breathing difficulties for the majority of their life.

..and they're the healthier plants out the back...
