Thread: An unreserved apology to members

Chaps and chapesses,


Although a long time member, lurker and now a short time poster I feel I need to make an editorial apology for a number of posting inaccuracies I have made over the last week. I have witnessed with mine own eyes, the righteous indignation with which TD members take to task and subsequently hold to account (read never let it drop), posters whom they have found to be either wantonly or mistakenly peddling terminological inexactitudes. I therefore ask your sufferance and that you spare a moment to read and thus allow me to debase myself and ask forgiveness for a few statements which with hindsight may have been…..inaccurate in nature. Bearwith:


The first and probably the most heinous being my reference to “a couple of plots”of land that I may have alluded to having either ownership or control over. As the membership has pointed out consistently and correctly, and usually to newbies; you cannot fucking well own land in Thailand as a foreigner. So ownership is legally out of the question and as we are all (sometimes painfully) aware control over said land which usually belongs to she who must be obeyed (SWMBO) is also impossible. To think otherwise when you cannot exercise control over something as mundane as the frequency of refreshment stops on a road trip with SWMBO is ludicrous. Therefore I unreservedly apologise and acknowledge that I neither own or control any land in the Kingdom my fuckwittery with 30 years of visitor experience is inexplicable.


Second, and I debated long and hard with myself over chronology, was my demeaning Lulu's sprogelette's momentous achievement in having the mental acuity to register her knowledge of the General Theory Of Relativity in her school homework; thus not only answering the question with true left field thinking but also challenging the teacher to dare give her anything of such as trivial nature for homework again. I also undermined Lulu's “Proud Father Moment” by suggesting that Sproglette, 5 though she is, was behind where she should be in advanced quantum physics for her age. Therefore, an apology to members, but more importantly to Lulu and Sproglette… I still have Stephen Hawkings book If you want it, although not signed it does contain a dribble stain which was as close to a signature with his good sainted self as you could get and I will happily mail it.


Lastly, to Maanam. I have used the terms “Meltdown” associated with your good self, along time and esteemed poster. I apologise wholeheartedly. Neither myself nor any member of TD including Lulu is qualified to use the term meltdown which implies some form of mental fart with regards to you. The posts one leaves on an internet or social media forum in no way enables even the most venerated psychologist to make a qualified judgement on the mental acuity of the poster. There are pertinent,current examples of this. Take POTUS, he frequently posts his views on social fora and whilst many question his mental state, the evidence with which to remove him from his position is clearly lacking as not one qualified shrink can make a strong enough case to remove the fucking fruit cake. He's that much of boon that not even pootin is tempted to novichok him, ney he's got his own personal GRU protection unit. Sorry I digress, I wholeheartedly apologise to Manny and will not stoop to the Italians' cowardly bating tactics in future.


Thus dear readers,those that are still with me, my tail is to quote a euphemism firmly between my legs. I shall contemplate my own words over a beer with what remains of this Friday and hopefully post more truthfully in future. I'm sorry.
