    Jazz hands

Apparently "jazz hands" is a thing. And this 'thing' will now become more common at Manchester University in the UK .. because the Students' Union has banned clapping, whooping and cheering. Can you believe it?

University of Manchester Students' Union bans clapping

Reps at the University of Manchester voted to replace noisy appreciation with the British Sign Language (BSL) equivalent - a wave of both hands.

Union officer Sara Khan said traditional clapping can cause issues for students with autism, sensory issues or deafness.

But the move was criticised by some who accused students of being "pampered".

Under the new measures, BSL clapping will be used at student events such as debates, panels and talks.

Student groups and societies will also be encouraged to move away from audible clapping.

It seems bizarre to me, and as I had no idea what "jazz hands" actually was or involved, I asked Madame Youtube to help me and she sent Homer Simpson to show me how it's done.

And from folks at Manchester University.

I worry for the future of the UK once the millenials get their hands on it. I know the last few generations haven''t exactly set the world alight but the idea of some dystopian society with Corbyn and his momentum crowd, and Transgender Storm Troopers trawling the streets to weed out any non=conformists is scary.

Next year, the introduction of clapping because jazz hands is, literally, not appreciated by blind performers and speech-givers.

Had to check the date before believing this...only banned during political/SU debates etc., still allowed at gigs, as is getting horrendously drunk. Thank goodness!

How will that work for radio

Just a minute when Julian and Sandy go round the horn, left hand down a bit no applause?

What about those handicapped with no hands should they do dub step or rap knees?

    Hand Cocks half green sent
