Yes, if you want it to be tough then it becomes tough.
A failure to quit smoking then becomes a lesser failure since after all it is difficult/tough, right?

My advice as a smoker for 50 years, the last 30 of them on two-packs-a-day, who "tried" to quit so many times that I can't count them, is to not fool yourself into quitting if you don't really want it.
Quit smoking was shit easy for me when I got 100% motivated to do it, no need to "try" as I did so many times before. I just did it.
The ugly gunk was my motivation and the understanding that my life was in danger if I continued smoke.
