Oh yeah. Give it 3 to 6months. Be down mid $1300 to $1400 bundled.

Karma (GoPro) doesn't operate well around houses, cars, bridges, etc. Not in house at all.

Recos for decent machine (w/ built in camera) that does(?) 500-1,000 to spend.

Going to check Best Buy soon.

    Thx

Look at DJI Air. Small and can fly indoors in ATT mode no issues. Costco has it on sale bundled for $799.

    Mavic (Dji) Air

    Done

    Exciting

PS: Karma's been discontinued. Way too many issues.
GoPro is selling their stockpile. No telling if they'll relaunch w/ "attempted" improvements or not..

Glad to help out a fellow Pilot. I flew a Mavic Air while in the states on last trip. Pretty cool little drone.

As for the GoPro Karma, all my reads tell me it's a goner and they won't re-enter the drone market. To bad really as I liked the concept using the Hero camera.

I am waiting until the big U.S. Christmas time period for sales on Mavic 2. If not, no worries. I like my Mavic Pro as it sits.

^ Haha. Mine too. That will work for the drug cartels and scum bag terrorists where money is no object.

I really like the Inspire. Never flown one though. It is a professional drone for sure. The Mavic is affordable if you crash and burn...

Cool stuff boys. I crash landed that first bit of kit a few yards down and promptly realized it's not for the fish or fain of heart. Maybe for the birds but even a bird brain has a sense of direction.
The Mavic I'm learning and may pull off a few shots yet. I like the go home mode, I could use that in my daily routine.

It's safe to land ect, ect.

Speaking of long shots, I had more than a few in the days past and deeply apologize for the Incoherent ramblings that followed.

Hope you understand. I hate to be an ass but sometimes I am driven.

    All apologies, fish.

Happy flying, and many more happy landings.

With a 7klm range, the "go home" feature is an absolute necessity.

Just make sure sure that you have the the Go Home altitude set to higher than anything that might be between the drone and home.

I probably already posted this vid before, but its worth watching again to see what happens when your drone loses communication with you.

Similar to the DJI OSMO, but cheaper, smaller and more features.

    Hey Tiz.

Spent a great portion of my day today browsing and reading on Gimbaled cameras or Gimbals for GoPro. I am on the fence whether to go with the Feiyu Tech G6 gimbal and use my GoPro or consider the products like the OSMO or the Removu K1 type.

Anybody using a DJI OSMO or the Removu K1? The down side I see with the DJI OSMO is the camera (like on their drones) is reasonably fragile and cant take abuse. The DJI OSMO big negative to me is the phone hanging off the side. The Removu K1 seems OK but again it is really an exclusive hand held with a very small display and not something you can attach to a motorcycle or take in the water diving like you can with the GoPro.

The Feiyu Tech G6 looks pretty cool and with small effort I can make a mount for my Truck when off-roading, motorcycling up in the mountains etc.

Lots of options...in fact too many...

    Yeah JPPR2.

Looks like you and I are having the same dilemma...

I've eliminated the DJI OSMO from my decision, mainly because you still need to connect your phone to use it. This is the main reason that I like the REMOVU K1.

The downside of the K1 is that if/when you decide that you need a new camera, then you have to replace the entire kit.

If I go with a GoPro gimbal, then if I decide to upgrade the GoPro, then I can continue to use the same gimbal.

But if I just upgrade the GoPro to a Hero 7 Black, then maybe a gimbal isn't even necessary...

Actually having a Hero 7 and the G6 would be an awesome combination. The Hero 7 has incredible stabilization now however putting it on a gimbal allows for some super videography options that a stand alone Hero 7 can't do.

    Hmmm....

This is a partial screen shot from their own website:

    https://www.feiyu-tech.com/g6/

There is an obvious problem if you cant see the screen properly.

I think they all do that Tiz. I would have to believe that it depends completely on the holding position and angle of the gimbal. That pic looks like it is above his/her head and if holding it that high in gimbal mode something will block your view as it rotates to hold the horizontal position but I if you are in video mode I do not think it is always critical to see the screen. It's kind of like when you hold your cell phone above your head. You take pics or vids but do not really see the screen. I have my back screen on my GoPro turn off after 1 minute of no activity to save battery life but it is still on.

    Tiz,
Are you using the GoPro Remo? I have been for about a year or so. Man is that nice. I mount the GoPro on the moto or truck, turn on the GoPro then use the Remo to control the H5 to record vid, take pics stop or turn off. I have heard the Hero 7 you can turn on with voice now but not sure how that works.

That said, I have been researching how the Remo works with the G6 gimbal being you connect the GoPro cam to the gimbal unit. I suppose you do not have to connect it to the G6 and use the Remo to control functionality.

More to come. Missus Jppr2 will order it all on during that Lazada 11/11 sale dealio. She has what appears to be endless coupons and vouchers to save . She says she can get both the GoPro and the G6 for less then I would have paid in the states...

One of my work mates has a G5 gimbal. He's pretty happy with it.

I watched lots of YouTubes last night and decided that the G6 is the best way to go for me just now, so I ordered one off Lazada last night. PHP 9,219 (about BHT 5,732).
Its coming from overseas, should receive it sometime between Fri 16 Nov - Mon 26 Nov.

I don't think there's a need for a Remo using the G6 as you can control it pretty well from the G6.

I think I'll hold off from getting a GoPro Hero 7 (for a while at least...)

I personally think it's a good choice Tiz. I will likely still buy the Hero 7. I think what I will do is a comparison with both and report back. I plan on putting the H5 and H7 on my moto at same time and vid a ride up in the mountains.

My wife and I are going to some mountain top resort in CM in a few weeks. I am taking my Mavic and all the other vid gear to play around. I will add vids here. I hope to have my G6 before I go. It's funny. My wife says it's all so expensive but yet loves all the vids to show to friends and family.

    Great photo.

I haven't had any problems with birds here in PH. (Feathered kind anyway...)

In Aus the Magpies and Crows will get interested in the drone, but luckily not had a strike yet.

    Not feathered haha

The bald (and golden) eagles in Alaska have some defined perimeters...can get iffy.

Had a great horned owl (in FL) and then a buzzard both divebomb my karma.

    that was worrisome.

I have had issues with pigeons on 2 occasions here. I think I still have the vid of the one close encounter. They seemed to have felt threatened by the sound. I flew above them and they did not follow.
