10 - 4. Copy that. I wouldn't worry about it too much. Just go fly. I mean my wife is a worry about me doing illegal stuff all the time and she never says anything when I say "See ya later today, I am going to go fly my drone". She says "OK, Have a good time"

On a side note, I have a friend (expat in BKK) who has been chasing getting fully Drone legal (Whatever that means) for a year and month now. We spoke yesterday and he said "Its all done now I am just waiting for the paperwork in the mail". I asked what paper work and he said.."I have no idea". And there you have it.

I am linked up with WetalkUAV and here is a nice vid of its capabilities

    Here is the Zoom review.

My honest opinion These could end up being like smart phones and buy every other iteration.

    Awesome technology nonetheless....

It appears the manufacturers do have a trade in option if you want to upgrade. It certainly seems to have many more system tweaks one can enjoy/learn how to use. I just wonder how many fingers one has to train or button, joy sticks or sliders one has to constantly adjust.

How do the camera gimbals like water, dirt and dust.

Is it the colour or better design but the drone looks to be somewhat "less fragile" than others I've seen.

The new gimbal is far more robust according to DJI tech and from the pictures and vids it appears to be true.

As for moisture and dust they are reasonably covered but I wouldn't try it in the rain or a Serengeti sand storm.

As you noted the body looks cleaner and larger sensors underneath.

All around it's a nice piece of technology that I will be looking at closely when I am in the states next month.

I've been back in Aus for the last 2 months.
I don't have my main computer with editing software, so these are just done using the DJI app.

Few Mavic pics from Yesterdays moto ride. I had an issue with the DJI Go4 app for the first time. Left me flying blind. Was kind of weird.

I am working out the issues now. I want to go back up and fly around that area. Its quite beautiful this time of year.

Got software glitch all cleaned up. Took moto out yesterday with my Mavic. Stopped at a coffee shop and flew around the area. Almost time to harvest the rice

Today I had some time to design and fab a bracket assy to mount my Hero 5 on the moto in a different and lower location.

I had to drill and countersink a hole in the holder to mount to the bracket I made.

Drilled hole in center of of adhesive pad

Bracket assy togehter and Hero 5

Assy mounted to the R3. There is plenty of clearance under front shock dampening. The unknown is dampening under load turning. Its will be tight but I have preload set pretty stiff. I added rubber for vibration but still do not know how road vibration will affect the vid quality. The Hero 5 was a top flight camera when released but now the Hero 7 black has a far better stabilization set up. I will likely sell my Hero 5 and upgrade to the Hero 7 in the near future.

Reposting from the Aus travel sub-forum.

TizShe and I did a trip from Sydney to Coffs at the end of August.

Spent 3 nights at Port Macquarie, 2 at Coffs Harbour and then another at Forster on the way back to Sydney.

I caught up with an old school friend that lives in Port Mac that I hadn't seen in nearly 40 years.

We stopped at quite a few beaches along the way, but it was still far too cold for either of us to get wet beyond our toes.

    Interesting to see the vids.

I've also read that the new GoPro has much better stabilisation than the Hero5 (I've also got a Hero5).

I usually only use the GoPro when swimming these days and just use my phone, a Samsung Galaxy 7, for all other videos.

I bought a Zhiyun Smooth-Q to get better stabilised videos.

Funny Tiz. We use the same gear. I have a S7. I am however going to upgrade to S9+ next month. Will use S7 for Mavic only.

The Hero 7 is interesting. I love the GoPro for vids on Moto, off roading in Truck and Mountain biking. The Phone is great for quick pics and vids.

I think my next purchase will be a REMOVU K1.

    https://removu.com/k1-detail/

Similar to the DJI OSMO, but cheaper, smaller and more features.
Plus, as it has its own screen, there's no need to hook a phone up to it to use as a viewer.

    Tiz,
I read about that. If you get one let me know how it works. Always good to hear real world feedback. I messed around with the OSMO and it is really cool technology.

I have been following this pretty close since it surfaced about 2 or 3 months or so ago. I definitely have my interest in it. I knew eventually the "accessory addons" would surface. I had always thought about mounting one of those high intensity LED lights on mine.

I will post some road vids with new mount location in a day or so when I can take it for a ride in the mountains.

Next up I will fab a mount to hold the GoPro looking backwards as I ride. I am avoiding putting the adhesive stick mount deals all over my moto. Shits a bitch to get off with out trashing the paint. Thailand lacks really good lacquer thinner or 3M adhesive remover. I even stopped by my local Toyota dealership paint shop and spoke with a few of my friends there and they don't have anything.
