Nobody can answer that because no foreigner entering the country is ever heard of again.
Gotta visit an optician very soon.![]()
Ive been to many 'stan countries, which one is turkmenistan ?
had a long weekend there whilst working in Baku quite a few years ago now. Ashgabat is an interesting city, very much East meets West. Modern airport and hotels with huge monuments dedicated to Saparmurat Niyazov. There was an Irish pub near my hotel which at least meant you could meet other foreigners (of which there were few).
Local food was very much the same as in Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan with most of the meat being lamb which is delicious. The women wear bright traditional costumes and the younger women are rather attractive with beautiful eyes.
Due to it's proximity to Iran the place was loaded with business men all of whom wanted help to get visas to America. The Israelis also wer present working on developing agriculture in the dry climate based on their making the desert green experience (and no doubt a Mossad base for infiltrating Iran)
Officialdom was very protracted and painfully demanding. Just getting a visa to enter the country took several weeks.
Have fun and don't forget your camera.

Most foreigners going there on sports invitations found on FB leave the country with only one kidney.
Decided I didn't want to go to Turkmenistan, got told I wouldn't get my finders fee for the six Chefs if I never went
So told them if that's the case, I'll pull the guys off the job that I found for them soon changed their tune.
You really showed 'em Chico!
It's your dreamworld after all.
