    What would you do?

On a first date in a restaurant and during the meal one guy turns to his date and says he doesn't find him attractive so why bother with the rest of the meal. A bit harsh and rude, I think. He could have at least stayed and finished the meal together. What do you think? What would you do?

Well, he's got a fair point. The bloke's quite repulsive.

But it's not like he's gonna be looking at his face as he rides that mangina

Both quite repulsive creatures, physically and emotionally. Deliberately cast for comic effect I suspect. Epic fail.
I wouldn't share a public transport grab handle with either of them.

I wouldn't be in that situation in the first place, I don't date men.

Welcome back CaptainNemo ... I've missed this nic

To the OP ... first dates as movies or a meal ... a definite no no.

Coffee/pub drink ... short time please

Carefully examine the Plan B and possible escape routes.

Tip: first dates in public restrooms help determine if second dates are advisable...

Yeah. But in this case I suspect the production company was footing the bill and the guy that was shooed away was reimbursed.
The production company loved it. They carefully screened candidates and found someone who always spoke his mind to the point of rudeness and then set him up with someone who was the opposite of his ideal man.

On the one hand brutal frankness can be refreshing and save a lot of bother and time. On the other hand, society has developed rules of ettiquette that are slowly being eroded away, especially by millenials.

I went on a blind date many years ago. We'd been chatting online for weeks and got on very well but for me it was disgust at first sight when we met at a cafe. Manners won the day and we had a nice chat face to face over coffee but at the end of it I came clean and said I don't feel the click. You've got to be honest, but you can't be rude.
