@tomcat - ladies' rooms are for reapplying makeup & gossiping with girlfriends, not for first dates. You oughtta know that, tomcat.
@nev - thnx for the info. Haven't met a Scottish person in my travels. I'd guess if I did, my forehead would be furrowed the whole time he/she was speaking!
@chas - Hagrid didnt have many speaking lines, so I could still follow the story even if I didn't comprehend all that he said.![]()

Coffee shop at a mall is a perfect place for a first date. If the date turns out to be someone not my type, its okay. I won't walk away, as long as he acts like a gentleman. Loads of interesting things to talk about..... People are interesting. The quirks and differences of each and everyone makes it even more so.
I am so unlucky that if I fall into a barrel full of D*ick**s, I'd come out sucking my own thumb!
When I was in BKK, I used to have movie dates with an Australian co- teacher at a cinema. He was prolly in his 60s. He had nice manners and never showed any romantic interest really, but we created a great friendship bond...... and we would always watch a movie at least once every week. Nice dude.....
Yes, I'd never go to a dinner or formal dinner on a first date.
As for this "reality" show it was cute.
And obviously staged.
The guy that cancelled it stayed and ate.
They show the waitress in the back kitchen and her boss talking.
I like dames, but this guy did not look to good himself.
Reality shows love to have a cantankerous villain.
^As long as you weren't leading him on without realising it.
I bet he felt fabulous walking around with you.
Fancy a trip to the movies? No pressure, like...
^^^Did he poke his meat-bone through the bottom of the box of popcorn in his lap and then offer you to grab a handful?

Looper naughty tonight...
My point is that while I would like to believe you about you both paying separate bills, I don't
A lot of women out here are either too fucking dumb to realize that a dude paying their way sends a message of interest, or they are doing it intentionally because, hey, free movie & shit. Add to that fact that flippers are notoriously un-shy about free shit & literally ask for it (free shit I mean).
Lets be frank here, a fucking 60 year old Ozzie going to "the movies" with a flipper in Bangkok.
I know right? Stereotypes suck

You have a pretty skewed view about women. I think you're hanging out with the wrong bunch and could use an upgrade.
@slick - why do you think GF didn't tell the truth that she paid for her movies, drinks and other stuff? She had a job in Bkk, she could afford to pay her own way. It's not as if they were eating at a 5-star Michelin resto, it was the movies.
Sure, Filipinos love freebies, who doesn't?
GF strikes me as an independent woman, from her stories of her life in Bkk, and her farm now. She strikes me as a person who lives within her means. If she spends her money on movies, drinks or clothes, it's her hard-earned cash, she has the right.
Just like I spend for my trips - airfare, accoms, food, etc. It's my money and I choose how to spend it. I may not stay in 5-star hotels but I get to see diff places, talk to ppl abt theur culture or experiences.
Re: dates, there was this one guy, he paid for the drinks (bubble tea) on our first date. Then paid for the meal afterward - he insisted. I offered to go Dutch, but he insisted on footing the bill. On our second date, I offered to pay (for all) bcos I felt it was a friendly date & not a romantic date. He didnt want me to pay for the whole meal, so we went Dutch. Was perfectly fine with me, bcos I didn't want to be beholden to him.
When I go out with my male friends or colleagues, we always split the bill equally, or order food individually & pay for our own (if in food court).
Aren't you guys acquainted with educated, independent Asian women? There are some around, it's the 21st century, after all.

I see the second flipper is here also, likely banging away at her device trying to narrative flip like I'm way out of line![]()

I think, Katie about sums it really well. Thanks. Was nice of you.
^^sure... just like all guys on TD are muscular, hyperactive sex machines... heh..
I think you've been associating with a different class of woman, slick.
Also, I think you're trolling, so I will agree to disagree. End of.
@GF - you're welcome. Walang anuman. Drop a line if ever you're near Manila.
