    Rodman returns to NK

Ex-NBA player Rodman expected to arrive in North Korea on Tuesday

Rodman, who met with North Korean leader Kim Jong Un on previous trips to Pyongyang and has called him "an awesome kid," declined to answer questions when he was seen by CNN reporters at Beijing International Airport, the network said.

Tensions have heightened on the Korean peninsula over Pyongyang's nuclear and missile tests and its vow to develop a nuclear-tipped missile capable of hitting the US mainland.

Four Americans are also being held in North Korea, including 22-year-old student Otto Warmbier, who was detained in January 2016 and sentenced to 15 years' hard labor for attempting to steal a propaganda banner.

Representatives for Rodman did not immediately respond to requests for comment. Rodman has defended his travels, saying in an interview with CNN in 2014 they would help "open the door" to the reclusive state.

CNN, citing two unnamed North Korean officials, said Rodman was expected to arrive in Pyongyang on Tuesday, but gave no additional details on the purpose of the trip.

In 2012, reports came out that Rotman was broke and summoned to court b/c he could not make child support payments. 5 years later, he still must be broke or "more broke." You gotta pay to live.

Over 50% of NBA players are broke within 5 years. Lots of big names too, like Scotty Pippin for example.

Dennis Rodman meets with sports minister, athletes in North Korea

PYONGYANG, North Korea -- Dennis Rodman has delivered a message from President Donald Trump to North Korea -- sort of.

On Thursday, the former NBA player gave the country's sports minister a copy of Trump's book "The Art of the Deal," a present intended for North Korean leader Kim Jong Un.

It wasn't signed by Trump, who was Rodman's boss for two seasons of the "Celebrity Apprentice" reality TV show. Rodman has said his visit has nothing to do with the White House.

Some other highlights of what has been a low-key Pyongyang trip for the often-flamboyant celebrity, who has visited North Korea four times before:

    Hanging with North Korean athletes

While his previous visits in 2013 and 2014 drew controversy, Rodman has said this week that he's just here to meet old friends and have a good time.

He and his small entourage have been spending time with young North Korean basketball players and visiting local sites.

Rodman watched a North Korean men's basketball team and met Sports Minister Kim Il Guk. Along with the Trump book, other gifts he presented for Kim Jong Un include a copy of "Where's Waldo? The Totally Essential Travel Collection," a mermaid puzzle, two sets of soap and two autographed jersey

Rodman also met North Korean Olympic athletes, including judo gold medalist An Kum Ae.

"All of you guys should be proud of yourselves, because, you know, a lot of people don't give you guys credit, because this is such a small country and not many people from North Korea can compete around the world," Rodman said.

He continued: "But for you guys to come back here in your country, with a medal, that says a lot about North Korea, because people don't really take North Korea so seriously about sports or anything like that."
